🩷🦎 This is the Axolotl!

The Axolotl is a remarkable aquatic salamander native to the lakes and canals around Mexico City. Its cute face, feathery external gills, and permanent “smile” make it one of the world's most recognizable amphibians.

Unlike most salamanders, axolotls remain in their juvenile-looking aquatic form throughout their lives. They can also regenerate lost body parts, including limbs and parts of their spinal cord and heart.

✨ Did you know? An axolotl can regrow an entire lost limb, including bones, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels—one of nature's most incredible regeneration abilities!
