DCD Dog Training & Behaviour Denise is an animal lover, having been around animals all her life. Denise has 15 of her own dogs, all border collies and started breeding about 10 years ago.

Dogs became a serious part of her life around 30+ years ago, although there were always family dogs. Having qualified as a dog behaviourist and psychologist Denise started receiving comments "oh great you can train my dog" You'll appreciate that behaviour is a different topic to training. Denise then undertook dog training courses. Denise is continiuing her studies of dog behaviour & psychology to a degree level. All dog training & behaviour work is done to latest scientific research and is always carried out through positive reinforcement and play.

Thank you everyone who attended our Woodleigh_Border_Collies get together day today. We had a fantastic time and loved seeing all the dogs (with their humans too)
Here’s what a “not” tired dog looks like that attended the day. 🤣

More photos and videos to follow once processed by Anna.

No training tomorrow, I’m cancelling all sessions.

It’s looking like a relax in the shade or chilax on the sofa in the cool type of day. Current forecast is showing tomorrow as hotter than today. 🥵

Keep cool, stay safe and drink lots 💦

Useful chart for our beloved furry family, too hot or too cold??

Due to the current hot weather, all training sessions are cancelled. It’s too hot for us, let alone our furry friends 🥵

Dear all
I’m gutted to do this but feel it absolutely necessary due to the extreme weather and humidity I don’t feel it fair on the dogs to do any training this weekend.

I am hoping everything is back to normal next week.

We’d like to introduce Brooke, she is a still a sheep dog but a small one. This gorgeous girl is a Shetland Sheepdog more commonly known as a Sheltie. They used to be known as a Shetland Collie.

BTW for anyone wondering she was Nige’s idea 💡 👏 but I did all the research and calls. Strike whilst the iron is hot 🔥 💕

Anyone who has met her have already fallen in love with her, as have we.

We always name our dogs with human names and for Brooke we researched old sheep dog names.

She should only grow to 13 to 15 inches tall so Bubs is happy that he’s not going to be the smallest.

Henry our biggest collie loves to play chase with her and she has fit in as if she has always been here.

Thank you to everyone who came “out out” for training today. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
