💫 May is Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month (VNAW) 💫

This years theme is 💚 🐾

This theme will reflect on the dedication and passion required to both train and practise as a veterinary nurse. Plus, it will highlight the compassion towards patients and people which underpins the skilled care provided by veterinary nurses every day.

The are leading the way in representing veterinary nurses, give them a follow if you don't already! 🩺

💫 Cali 💫

Lovely Cali was a little nervous to start with when we met her for her ultrasound examination. She soon realised that we weren't too scary and she was a very good girl for the whole scan ❤

🐾 Jill 🐾

Jill is a lovely older lady, who recently had an ultrasound examination with us 💚

She was perfectly behaved in every way 💫

We ensured that she had thick, padded bedding to lay on and we used very gentle handling techniques with her to make sure she was comfortable at all times ❤

This is the very handsome Sirius 💫

He recently needed an abdominal scan with us and he was a very good boy 🐾

He preferred to be under the towel but able to peep out. The pet remedy spray & relaxing music also seemed to make him feel much more settled 💚

Before we can perform our abdominal ultrasound scans, our patients need to be clipped and then ultrasound gel applied 💧
This will have a cooling effect so it's very important that patients are kept warm before, during and after their scan. This is especially important for elderly or unwell patients ❤️‍🩹

This month is for celebrating pets and the love and joy they bring us ❤

It also aims to promote responsible ownership by raising awareness of their health, happiness and wellbeing 🐾
