Do you have a wary or anxious dog around new people?

I met a new client a couple of weeks ago as they have a dog who isn’t very keen on strangers. They need a 4 hour sitting in December so I recommended a couple of meets before the date so the dogs, especially Buddy who isn’t keen on strangers, could get used to me beforehand.

You’ll see me in the picture below with Willow the Shih Tzu and Buddy the Spaniel. Willow is an older lady who took to me straight away whereas Buddy did a little growl but let me into the home. I didn’t force myself on him and let him come to me in his own time and after no more than 10 minutes this was Buddy, nose to nose staring into my soul and showing he accepted me.

As I took the details I needed and just had a chat with the owner Buddy kept coming back for more cuddles and kisses and his owner couldn’t believe how quickly he had accepted me.

If you have an anxious dog or one that is wary of strangers, I’m your girl! I go at the dogs pace and will always treat them with the love and care I’d treat my own dog.

Meet the little dancing duo Emmie & Maia 🐶🩷

I’ve been walking Emmie & Maia now for almost a month and what a fun time it has been! Their owners work from home with very busy jobs so I go in to walk these two cuties twice a week.

For little dogs they have huge personalities, but we all know it’s Maia and who is the Queen (sorry Emmie).

Welcome to the family Maia & Emmie 🐶💕

These two cuties are sisters and each have their own little quirks. Their owners work from home and don’t always have the time to give them the exercise they need.

Meet Bessie……..

She is a 16 year old Cockapoo who is blind. I first met her a month ago when her owner booked in for me to check in on her and Monty whilst she was at work.

Due to Bessie not having her vision she needs a little extra help to get outside and make sure she isn’t getting stuck on things but she is the happiest dog. Her tail never stops wagging while I am there.

Through showing Bessie love, attention and patience she knows she can trust me. During my time with her we play, have cuddles and when she’s had enough I just sit with her whilst she takes a nap and snores 🤣

Where this all started……..

I’ve spent years working in different sectors with the last 10 years being in property. At the beginning of August I lost my job with no notice and no reason. I was left wondering how I was going to provide for my family, then Wags & Wiggles was born ✨

I’ve always had a passion for dogs and am a self proclaimed crazy dog lady 🐶😍 I wanted to turn that passion into something to help others and enjoy what I do.

If I could go back and tell my younger self one thing it would be to turn your passion into your job💕

The thing I love most about what I do now is seeing how excited and happy my clients are to see me and the peace of mind I can give their owners that their pets are getting the exercise they need.

Everything in life happens for a reason and I’m so grateful my passion and career are now aligned 🐶🩷
