CAT POISONINGS, CV1 5HL AREA OF COVENTRY!
You may all remember recently we took in a stray Mum and 4 kittens. This little family had been given shelter by a very kind man inside a wheelie bin. He had provided them a warm box and straw for safety and also kept them fed before we could bring them into care.
Where the Mum and babies were rescued from, there was also a colony of 4 adult cats remaining. These adult cats were due to be trapped and neutered on the man's return from his holiday.
Sadly the man has returned from his holiday to find all of the cats have very cruely been poisoned and they are now all dead 😔💔 We are also aware of another colony trapping job being carried out in a nearby street where cats have also been poisoned.
WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT EXTREMELY CLEAR TO EVERYONE THAT POISONING OWNED OR STRAY CATS IS AGAINST THE LAW AND A CRIMINAL OFFENCE!
THIS WILL BE BEING REPORTED TO THE RSPCA AND ALSO TO THE POLICE TO BE INVESTIGATED!
We cannot stress enough, that these cats will have died a very painful and horrific death. Poison is not an ethical way to euthanise any animal and not only are you putting stray/ owned cats in danger but you are also putting nearby wildlife and other owned pets at risk!
These cats did not ask to be strays! They have already been let down by humans who quite frankly just couldn't be bothered to neuter cats and/ or have dumped previously owned pets! Colonies of cats don't just form out of thin air, they are created by humans being utterly irresponsible and cruel!!
This little colony was weeks away from safety, neutering and being relocated to rural homes. Instead they have been killed on the streets because someone couldn't wait a few more weeks for them to be moved! Rescues are full to bursting and rescuers are working around the clock, alongside normal jobs, and can only do so much in one day! Have some compassion, understanding and patience!!
Our hearts go out to the kind gentleman who was trying so hard to get these cats safe. We hope the beautiful Mum and babies we have in care, safe, fed and well, can bring you some comfort at this awful time 😔💔

IF YOUR CATS OR ANY OTHER PETS SHOW ANY SIGNS OF POISONING EG WOBBLING, DROOLING, LETHARGY, VOMITING, PLEASE GET THEM TO A VET ASAP!!
RIP to the innocent little souls who have spent their lives fighting daily to survive, only to be cruely killed by a very sick individual. You all deserved so much more kindness and we are utterly heartbroken for you 💔 Run free at rainbow bridge sweethearts 😔🌈❤️🐾
