Out with Bill this week solo to go and find some dogs 💙

Unfortunately, as it was pi***ng it down, we only found one dog 🙄 so I’m going to bring him to some group walks and sessions where I can guarantee there will be plenty of dogs! Keep an eye out for this little man as he’s a wee fiesty lil thang who runs riot at home and isn’t so sure of being told off by aunty Tay - the shock in his face of ‘excuse you?!’ 😆

His behaviour is amplified by demand barking at his dad and getting what he wants - a bit of his lunch! All this is doing is positively enforcing bad behaviours. Good manners start at home - you can’t expect a dog to behave and listen on a walk if they rule the roost at home!

For decorative purposes only 🫠🙈😂

This is why we assess dogs - it’s not always what you think 😉

Wait for the bum bite… 👀😳

No one ever sees this side of Leo - they see the chilled boy, the one who tells the other dogs off, the dog who is solely focussed of sniffing!

But there is another side to him - Leo is very affectionate, sassy, funny, greedy… and quite boisterous at times!

Of course it’s very normal for dogs to use their mouths to communicate and he’s play fighting with his dog sister Lola who can give as good as she gets, but Leo still got told for being a bit OTT 😂

This is deception now. I gave them grace before as maybe they were unaware. They absolutely know and need to stop lying, hence I’m no longer hiding their name!

See previous post for the total sh*t-show 😩

And that’s a wrap! 4 weeks of group classes with 10 dogs 🐕 plus my two joining!

New skills learnt to practice at home and on walks. The idea isn’t to create the perfect dog in a few sessions, but give the owners the confidence and knowledge to help their dogs longer term.

Lovely to see all of the dogs and humans make progress and build a better relationship with their dog through understanding - because we are stronger together! ❤️🐾

Midweek group walkies! Two scent Hounds and two Shepherds 🐕🐾

Leo gave Bella a HUGE compliment… he got all giddy and bouncy and decided to engage in the start of play! Leo is dog selective and won’t just play with any dog! He and Bella have had a few arguments during our 121 sessions as, through no fault of her own, she doesn’t know how to ‘dog’… and yet she’s very clearly in a much better head space now if Leo is prepared to play! Especially after she sniffed his bum and bashed his b***y with her muzzle 😆

Brilliant progress 😍🙌🏼🖤

When Leo saw Lola for the first time 👀

Opened the front room door and Leo immediately barked on sight - expected behaviour, hence he is on a lead. Lola was a bit nervous and started growling, hence Leo then barks back. They didn’t meet properly until day 8 which was on a walk and NOT in the back garden. They’re friends now, but it took a while!

Exposure session for Sabre and he was brilliant! 💙

Despite his size, Sabre is still a teenager who hasn’t had much exposure, so we went out for a power walk to burn off some steam, as well as ample sniffing time! We practised lead commands, built on our relationship just me and him, plus lingered outside shops so he could get used to seeing lots of strange people.

Sabre had a few fans in the form of two women and one of their sons and he enjoyed the fuss… plus looking through the shop glass and sniffing the cafe 👀 he wasn’t so sure on a bus on the main road, ignored 3 dogs without reacting, but barked back at a dog reacting to him. He loves kids as he spends a lot of time with the grandchildren, but as much as he was interested to play, he was happy to continue walking past 👏🏼
