Hi it’s me Hels ☺️

I'm here to help you and your dog succeed in living the life you always imagined. The idea for this page and business is a positive but informed approach to training, and helping you to think about the behaviour you want your dog to do. I am advocating for a movement towards you as an owner, being able to consider your dog holistically and as the wonderfully emotional and varied individual that they are. Consider this platform a subversion of the typical good vs bad tropes we hear so much of and an evolution towards expanding the vocabulary of owners everywhere!

​I’m offering in person sessions, zoom and virtual advice, courses, q&a’s, breed specific support, a listening ear, and a science based and informed approach to keeping your household happy and your dog’s tail waggy. We’ll be answering all the why’s around dog behaviour and helping owners support their dogs. Join me in the dog behaviour transformation and see for yourself how simple change can affect your relationship with your dog.

3 tips off the bat:

Give them more sleep
Don’t walk them 2 times a day for hours exposing them to dogs
Get used to taking treats out because they are the only thing that will help fix it. More on this later.

So hit follow and I’ll help you understand your dog’s behaviour and give you tons of tips to help them overcome it.

I never hold back when talking about my own dogs and I’ll never feel embarrassed about them.

Bon and toph like literally every other dog out there are products of their environment, early experiences, my input, their individual differences and so much more!!

“naughty behaviour” is rarely that.

Growling or biting is communication. Refusing to do things is often for a reason.

And most importantly - reactivity is happening for a reason!!!!

If you’ve got any “naughty” behaviours your dog does I’ll try and help you find the reason 🤗

Give Jake and Lisa some love 💚

It’s hard when there feels like there’s something blocking your progress but you can’t find it!

Lisa is one of these owners who analyses, thinks it through, wants to get it all right and Jake has been throwing her curveballs to no end!

It finally feels like we’ve hit on a long term strategy and I couldn’t be happier!

I actually can’t believe this is happening.

I’m a finalist for the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) awards Pet Service Business of the year award and I couldn’t be more overwhelmed.

It’s just me - I reply to your emails, all your enquiries. I do the tech, self edit my podcast, write every post and email. I think through your dogs problems and create the plans, I implement them with you. I assess dogs for kennels, councils and in homes.

Being recognised as a finalist is an absolute pinch me moment tbh!

So as a thank you for being there for this journey…

Comment any question about your dog and I’ll do my best to answer it honestly and as completely as I can! And if I can’t I’ll tell you how to get the best information to move forwards!

The royal kennel club posted this (although I literally can’t find it anywhere now!!!) on line breeding and it’s really eye opening!

The thing I want to highlight is not that breeding is bad…it’s awesome because we get all the different amazing dog breeds that we have today and we get different dogs that are great at different things.

But…..

The purist, type and form driven ideology is definitely a bit of a red flag in terms of what to look for.

Bon has a low inbreeding coefficient - level of inbreeding - if you check her parents they actually have an COI of 0.0 so I’m not sure where hers has even come from 😂

Other dogs we’ve had have suuuuper low COI’s too less than 1% which is awesome.

Some breeds have huge coefficients where grandparents and grandchildren are mated.

It’s so important that we talk openly about this and empower owners to check the data available. And this is where the kennel club are doing good things because it’s actually there if you buy a registered pup. I can check the health results, hip scores, inbreeding coi’s for every dog we’ve ever owned even those that are long gone.
