Please ignore these stupid bloody posters. Just because a baby bird has feathers it does NOT mean they are a fledgling ready to leave the nest. This is misinformation. Pigeons should be flying as soon as they leave the nest. No questions. Pigeons have feathers from as young as two weeks old, but certainly don't fledge at that age! There's a reason people say you never see baby pigeons. It's because they shouldn't look like babies when they fledge.

Spring is officially here, which means the Wildlife world has come back to life.
Miss and hollows are full of hatching babies ready to learn how to fly.

Sorry for being a little quiet here. We're very full and unfortunately unable to take in more pigeons right now. It's all also the time of year where viruses like pigeon pox are going round. I currently have six baby woodies that I'm nursing through the virus AND then one little fledging woodie absolutely riddled with pox didn't get the notice that we're full and landed on my garden table when I was outside cleaning.... so now we have 7 with the pox virus alone (not to mention the others that are being kept WELL away.) The little one is in pretty bad shape (no pics as I don't really like stressing wild animals with pictures for social media where I can) but he's on day four now of antibiotics for secondary bacterial infections, extra subcutaneous fluids and has been buddied up with another little pox baby for company (mental health is so incredibly important and having a buddy when sick seems to really help them.)

You can't get pox (incase you're wondering!)

It's survivable with the right care and support.

As it currently stands, I've had to remove my number from the page and sadly I've had to switch Facebook messages off too. This is not to be rude and the rescue isn't permanently closed. I find it very difficult receiving messages and pictures of birds in need when I'm too full to help. It breaks my heart, so whilst we're closed, sadly this is the route I've had to take to protect my own mental health too.

Thank you to those who have sent things from the wishlist. I'm sorry I haven't taken pictures and done posts - I just haven't had the capacity. It is so very much appreciated though x

For those who would like to support us through the last little push of breeding season we could really use all the puppy pads, hand wash, washing up sponges, hand sanitizer, blue roll and plastic aprons in the world right now! All of these things can be found on the wishlist at the top of the page.

Thank you x

Truth. Sick of hearing them being called "war heroes." - like they had a choice or something.

We used pigeons as tools of war, sending them into danger for our benefit. 🐦💔

We exploited their loyalty, then discarded them when they were no longer useful. 😔

They were never ours to use. They deserve respect and protection.💚💜

Some of the purest kindness in the world doesn’t cost a single coin.
Say, what have you been doing for some wild birds around you? ☺️

They may be tiny, unwanted, or even feared—but their one little life is everything they have.
Let them keep it.

This!

This!

I don’t need you to love me. I just need you to remember that my life matters to me, too.

Pigeons are amazing animals! 🐦 They mate for life, raise their babies together, can fly up to 50 mph, and some travel more than 500 miles in a single day.‌

They're incredibly smart, too. Pigeons can recognize human faces, remember landmarks, find their way using familiar routes, and even categorize images in ways similar to humans.

These gentle birds are simply trying to share our world. Please be kind to them ❤️
