Ian's Memorial Service
No flowers please.
There will be a collection box for Kats & Kits, a charity close to his heart. We have had several cats from this Sanctuary, which is for elderly cats and those with special needs.

To all friends of Annemarie Seager (one our trustees) & Ian Seager, cat lovers and long time supporters of Devizes Kats & Kits.

Sadly Ian passed away last week and Annemarie has arranged the following:

Ian's Celebration of Life is at St Peter's Church, Poulshot, on 1st October at 11.30, followed by a wake at The Raven.
Please let me know if you're able to attend, so I can ascertain numbers.

We all send our sincere condolences to Annemarie & her extended family at this sad time.

We want the Government to change the law to permit pet ashes in human graves by ending their classification as waste so that families can be buried with their beloved pets.

I have an elderly cat with kidney disease. She'll eat the specialist dry biscuits, but wouldn't touch the wet food. I remember Lorraine uses a blender and a little water. So I put half a sachet of renal food, half a sachet of Felix, added warm water and blended into into a thick soup. She ate the lot in one go. She's done that for 4 meals now, so fingers crossed. I'll gradually add more renal food and less Felix. She's a delightful girl, coming up to 18 and so affectionate. I'll take her to the vet next week for bloods, to see how she's getting on.

I read that if you wet a toothbrush and gently brush your cat with it, especially around their face, it resembles their mother licking them. Well I tried it with our Minnue, 17½ years old. She absolutely loved it. This is a cat that doesn't like being groomed. I gently brushed around her face, neck, ears and chin for about 15 minutes. All I have to do now is remove the hair before I brush my teeth 😄

Thank you to all the supporters that came to our Coffee Morning at Needham House on 4th July. Rest assured that every penny of the money raised will be spent on our dear cats.

Lorraine has asked me to apologise to our followers that there will be no newsletter update this month.
I feel that no apology is needed considering all that Lorraine & Dave have had to contend with. It’s been a frustrating & heartbreaking time for them with every forward step met with five backwards! Lorraine’s first thought, as always, has been to care for the cats above all else.
This week they have started to receive back everything that has been in storage. We wish them the strength to continue with this and look forward to reporting that they are back in their home asap.
