Dog sitting might look like cuddling dogs, going for walks and having lots of fun… and yes, there’s plenty of that! 😂

But behind the scenes it’s running a business, managing bookings, planning care, keeping up with admin and, most importantly, making sure every dog in my care is safe, happy and looked after properly.

This isn’t something I do as a hobby. It’s my business, my livelihood and something I take incredibly seriously.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

Your dog doesn’t have to be the easiest dog in the world to be part of your wedding day. ❤️

Nervous, reactive, easily overwhelmed or simply not a fan of crowds? That doesn’t automatically mean they have to miss out.

Sometimes it’s just about planning their part of the day around them rather than expecting them to fit into the day.

That might mean a quiet arrival, some time away from the crowds, joining you for the important moments and heading home before things get too much.

Your wedding day can still include your dog. It might just look a little different. 🐾

🐴🏆 SNUGGLE SITTERS IS OUT OF THE OFFICE! 🏆🐴

For the next few days, I’m swapping dogs for horses and heading off to enjoy one of the biggest events in the equestrian calendar…

The Defender Burghley Horse Trials! 🐎❤️

And it’s right on our doorstep, so there was absolutely no way I was going to miss it!

If you’ve been following Snuggle Sitters for a while, you’ll know I’m a bit of a horsey girl too, so I’m very excited to be enjoying it with some lovely friends. 🥂🐴

I’ll be taking a few days off to enjoy the dressage, cross country, show jumping, shopping and all the fabulous atmosphere that comes with Burghley. 🐎🍾🛍️

The signal can also be pretty shocking with so many people around, so if you message me over the next few days, I might be a little slower than usual getting back to you. 📱😂

I’ll be back soon, probably exhausted after all the walking, slightly worse for wear after a few drinks, but very happy! 😂🥂

And of course, while I’m away, the Snuggle Sitters dogs are officially in charge! 🐶👑

🐴✨ Snuggle Sitters has been out and about again, although this time my clients had four legs and were slightly bigger than usual! 😂

I’ve spent the weekend at Aston-le-Walls for the Regional Pony Club Championships with my best friends and their children, acting as the official driver, chauffeur, snack supplier and general support crew. 🚚🐴

And what a weekend it was for Etta! She rode like an absolute champ and we couldn’t be prouder of her results. 🌟 Gunner was also a superstar pony and definitely deserves a mention for being such a good boy. 🥰

The weather, however, had absolutely no idea what it was doing! Saturday brought biblical levels of rain ☔️🌧️ and at one point Rose and I decided the only sensible thing to do was hide in my horsebox… where we secretly ate sweets while everyone else was getting soaked to the skin. 😂🍬 Priorities!

By Sunday, we were back to sunshine and wandering around in just a T-shirt. Typical British weather! 🤦‍♀️

Somehow, in amongst all of that, I’ve also managed to put my shoulder out. 🙈 No idea how, but apparently even being the official driver comes with its risks!

It’s another quieter week for Snuggle Sitters as I was booked off last week and I’m out again towards the end of this week because… well… it’s the BEST WEEKEND OF THE YEAR! 🐎🍾

That’s right, it’s Burghley Horse Trials! 🎉
And I’ll be there with my best friends and, of course, a FOMO child who absolutely cannot possibly miss out on anything! 😂🎉

You’ll most likely find me there drinking Pimm’s, watching some incredible horses, wandering around the shopping stands and desperately trying not to buy things I absolutely do not need. 😂

Although… I might need a very waterproof coat for winter. Obviously. That’s completely essential. 😉☔️

Then it’s back to the pets, with a sit with the gorgeous Digby 🐶❤️ and a couple of weddings to look after before I actually leave the country and go on a proper holiday! ✈️☀️

And this one is going to involve absolutely no horseboxes, no driving, no weddings and hopefully very little rain. 😂

My plans are very simple: drink cocktails by the pool, read my book and do absolutely nothing productive for a whole 7 days. 🍹📖🏖️

All with my long-suffering husband, who puts up with me being gone for days on end while I’m off looking after everyone else’s animals! 😂❤️
I think we’ve both earned that holiday. 🥂

“But what if my dog doesn't settle with you?”

This is something I completely understand owners worrying about.

Especially if they've never used a pet sitter before.

Because you're not just leaving your dog with someone.

You're leaving your baby with someone.

And I don't expect every dog to meet me and immediately think:

“OMG SOPHIE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!” 😂

Some dogs are confident straight away.

Some need a little more time.

Some want to sniff me from the other side of the room for the first 20 minutes.

And some decide I'm their new best friend within approximately 30 seconds.

They're all different.

My job isn't to force a relationship.

It's to give them time, keep their routine as normal as possible, pay attention to their behaviour and let them settle at their own pace.

That's one of the reasons I love having meet and greets before bookings.

It gives you confidence too.

Because you're not handing your keys over to a complete stranger and hoping for the best.

You get to meet me.

Your dog gets to meet me.

We can talk about their routine, their quirks, what they like, what they don't like and anything else I need to know.

And hopefully, by the time you go away, it doesn't feel quite so scary. ❤️

So, why did I actually start Snuggle Sitters? 🐾

It wasn't because I woke up one morning and thought...

"You know what I need? A business where I spend my days covered in dog hair." 😂

Although, admittedly, that's now a fairly accurate description of my life.

It started with my love of dogs and knowing just how difficult it can be to find someone you genuinely trust to look after them.

Because I get it.

They're not "just dogs".

They're your family.

They're the ones waiting at the door when you get home, following you around the house, stealing your side of the bed and somehow knowing exactly when you need a cuddle.

And when you have to go away, whether that's for work, a holiday, a family event or anything else, you want to know they're happy too.

That's why I love in home pet sitting.

They get to stay in the place they know, follow their normal routines and have someone there giving them proper care and attention.

And now Snuggle Sitters has grown to include something else I'm REALLY excited about...

💍 Wedding dog chaperoning.

Because if your dog is part of your family, why shouldn't they be part of one of the biggest days of your life?

That's really what Snuggle Sitters is about for me.

Giving people peace of mind while making sure their pets are happy, safe and properly cared for. ❤️

And yes... there are plenty of cuddles involved too. 🐶
