Hal's Urban Hedgehogs is a Self funded Micro Rescue for Wild Hedgehogs in Corby, Northamptonshire founded in 2019

We try so hard to get a successful result with every admission but sometimes it's simply not possible.

Thanks to Oakham Veterinary Hospital Small Animal for letting us bring 'Problem Child' in for an examination and discussion of Next Steps for his Treatment Plan 🙌

This is Kevin from Oakham who's been here W-A-Y too long and been overtaken by later admissions who themselves have already been released.

He's still only around 400g, should be 700+ (and gone) but he keeps getting 'stuck' and YoYo'ing with his weight.

He's still got a Hoglet shaped skull (not yet got his 'Fir Cone' nose) and is barely eating for the umpteenth time.

When we took this photo (24 hours ago) he had no Pre Molar or Incisor teeth but to our amazement when examined by Vet Sarah he seemed to have acquired the full set since then 🤯

Maybe he used Amazon Prime? 🤷🤔

Anyway the Next Steps are relocating to an Outside Suite, Enrichment Tray, additional medication and some fresh air...to be reviewed in a couple of weeks 🙏

Billy and Lauren, Hoglets of Halli (disturbed nest from a few weeks ago) have ventured out the nest on their own AND discovered Royal Canin Mother & Babycat at the same time... double bonus 🏆🏆

They're around the 300g mark now so have enough baby teeth to enjoy the food 🙌🦔✅

Both Hoglets (as yet unnamed) now have their eyes open and are Splooting.

Today is 37°, they are in full shade with multiple CoolPads and if you look closely Mum is keeping a keen eye on them.
