We have no cattery facilities and cats live as part of a family meaning we get to know them far better than rescue cats in catteries. We're a very very small family run cat rescue operating the rescue from our own private home and private foster homes. We do not have large cat pens or a cattery and all cats live as part of a family with us or in foster homes. All visits must therefore be via pre-b

ooked appointment. We do have official recognition as a charity registered with the charity commission. Our charity number is 1211677
We believe pets are for life and are part of your family. We are very much PRO NEUTERING & CHIPPING and believe breeding should be outlawed with only certain registered breeders being allowed to breed cats

ADOPTED JUNE 2026

Born in September 2023
In rescue since 2024

This chap was a feral trapped by workers at a local distribution depot and brought to us.
He can be a naughty chap but is now in his own home where he can rule the roost and has many windows to watch the world go by.

🚨 RESCUE DIARY – DAY 2 🚨
(Otherwise known as “How many miles can one woman drive while surviving on crackers?” 😹)

⏰ Slightly later start today… 6:30am.
Luxury! 🤣

Usual routine first:
🐱 Feed cats
💊 Medications
🧹 Litter trays
📱 Check messages

Then off over the fells to Middleton in Teesdale to collect two feral toms for castration.
Well… “feral” might be a bit unfair because the people feeding them have actually done a brilliant job socialising them ❤️

🚗 Only 30 miles to get there.
Absolutely stunning views over the hills but sadly no time to stop and admire them properly.

Collected the boys, met two younger siblings from the next litter, then headed another 20 miles onwards to the vets.

📦 Next mission: buy a padded envelope to send off a p**p sample for testing.
(CAT p**p before anyone asks 😹)

Apparently a giant Home Bargains sells everything except padded envelopes, but thankfully B&M saved the day.

📮 Off to the Post Office to send the sample away because we need results ASAP. We currently have what feels like a full-scale “poonami” outbreak here 💩🌊
Truthfully it’s only affecting a handful of cats, but when you are the one cleaning it up… it feels endless 😭

🥪 Grabbed a supermarket meal deal for lunch.
Honestly I could probably write a review guide to supermarket meal deals at this point because I practically live on them.

💻 Lunch was eaten sitting in the car while doing admin on my laptop waiting for the boys to finish at the vets.

Then collect the boys and drive the 20 miles back to Teesdale to return them home.

🏞️ In theory I should then have headed straight home…
But I spotted wildlife and decided to stop for photos, so I definitely added another 15 minutes onto my already 30-mile journey 😅

🏠 Back home briefly… no time to breathe.
Feed cats, then rush through adoption paperwork because little Twinkle was heading off to her new home in Northumberland ❤️

🚗 Another 20-mile trip.
Lovely adopters, paperwork completed, insurance sorted and Twinkle safely settled into her exciting new life.

Poor hubby had to fend for himself again 😔

🚨 Then the evening chaos began…
I had barely switched off the engine on the driveway when my aunt rang saying she couldn’t move… then stopped talking… but DIDN’T hang up.

Cue instant panic 😳

I rang her neighbour to run round and check on her. Thankfully she was absolutely fine… she’d just forgotten to hang up the phone 😭
Honestly my nerves are shattered.

🏠 Finally walked into the house around 8:15pm.

🐱 Evening cat duties started immediately:
• Feeding
• Medications
• Cleaning
• Answering endless messages

…including people tagging me in posts about a loose WALLABY.

Yes. A wallaby.
And no, before anyone asks, we do not rescue wallabies. We have not expanded the rescue quite that far yet 🤣

☕ Tea tonight consisted of:
7 cream crackers, butter and a cuppa.

I know. Living the dream 😹

📱 Then because I clearly make sensible life choices, I kept replying to messages until around 1am.

🛏️ Finally crawled into bed at 2am.

Shoot me now 😭🤣

🚨 RESCUE DIARY – DAY 1 🚨
Monday 1st June… and honestly, I’m exhausted just writing this 😹

⏰ 5:30am start
First job as always – sort all the cats, medications, litter trays, breakfasts and then the fun part… trying to catch the cats needed for the vets. Easier said than done 🙈

🚗 Off to the vets
One cat in for a dental operation and another for a dental check-up.
Of course I was running late because the cats refused to cooperate and then there’s Monday morning rush hour traffic on top of that. Vet check-in times feel painfully early when you already have hours of rescue work to do before even leaving the house.

🛒 On the way home
• Called at Tami’s to collect cat litter
• Dropped a neuter voucher off at another vets
• Answered rescue phone calls in the car
• Pulled into lay-bys replying to messages because otherwise they simply don’t get answered

💻 Home = admin time
A couple of hours of rescue admin squeezed in… but it’s never enough. It never is.
Also had to dash to the shop because our own food cupboards were looking very sorry for themselves. Not that I actually had time to cook anything 😅

❤️ Then off to help my elderly aunt
At 92 years old she needs a bit of extra support at the moment, so a quick supermarket run with her shopping list and then delivering everything to her. And trust me… nothing happens quickly when helping a 92-year-old bless her 🥹

🚦 Before I knew it… back to the vets
Quickly fed the tribe their tea and headed back out into teatime traffic to collect the dental patient.

📧 While sitting in the car park I realised I’d forgotten to order more meds for chemo cat Dennis, so ended up emailing from the car because the vets had already closed by the time I escaped there.

🏠 Finally got home around 7:30pm
Only to immediately get a phone call from my aunt asking what day it was so she could work out the TV guide 😭❤️

🐱 Evening routine
Feed cats.
Mix medications.
Hand out supper.
Sort everyone for the night.

🍲 Husband was told to fend for himself for tea and I survived on a tin of soup 😹

😴 Sat down for one hour around 9pm and was literally falling asleep sitting upright… but rescue doesn’t stop just because you’re tired.

🛏️ Finally crawled into bed just before midnight.

And that was only DAY ONE 😳

Last week we popped in to microchip the lovely Muffin and she was an absolute star throughout 🐾✨

We use Pettrac microchips, one of the UK’s most trusted Defra-compliant databases. They’re checked by vets, rescues and local authorities nationwide and operate 24/7, giving lost pets the best possible chance of being reunited with their families. Studies consistently show that microchipped pets are far more likely to make it home, with microchipped cats reunited with their owners many times more often than those without a chip 🏡🐱

It’s also worth noting that it is now the law in England for cats to be microchipped and registered, so this simple procedure isn’t just peace of mind, it’s a legal requirement too.

We offer Pettrac microchipping for just £20 per pet, including registration, quick to do and lasting a lifetime. One small chip, a huge layer of protection 💛
