A little look at our September guests so far 🤎🐾

Just one week into the month and we’ve already had so many lovely faces through the door. From returning favourites to new friends, it’s been a busy start to September at Katie’s K9s.

Our dog home boarding and doggy day care in Congleton, Cheshire is all about keeping things small, calm and as close to home as possible. Each dog gets plenty of exercise, enrichment, cuddles, play, rest and individual attention, with their own routines and personalities always taken into account.

We’re so grateful to every owner who trusts us to care for their dogs, we love seeing them settle into their own little home from home while they’re with us.

Let’s hope the rest of the month is as wonderful as this first week ♥️🐾

September is here and the seasons are changing 🍁🍂

The mornings are getting cooler, the leaves are beginning to turn and the season of crisp walks, muddy paws and cosy afternoons is officially here.

September always feels like a fresh start, and we’re looking forward to a new season of adventures with our gorgeous guests.

There will be woodland walks beneath the changing leaves, plenty of time to sniff and explore, new places to discover and, of course, the inevitable wet and muddy paws along the way.

At Katie’s K9s, we believe a happy dog’s day should include more than just a walk. Our home boarding and doggy day care guests enjoy a balance of exercise, exploration, enrichment and plenty of calm cuddles in a genuine home from home environment.

So, waterproofs at the ready, towels are stocked and we’re embracing everything autumn brings 🧡🪾

We’re looking forward to welcoming our home boarding and doggy day care guests throughout the season and making the most of everything autumn has to offer 🐾

🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

Today is all about celebrating the wonderful dogs who bring so much joy, love and personality into our lives!

We couldn’t let the day pass without sharing some of the very special faces who make Katie’s K9s what it is ♥️🐾

Every dog who stays with us becomes part of our family and we feel so lucky to get to know each of their individual personalities, quirks and favourite things. From the energetic ones who never stop running, to the cuddly ones who would happily spend all day by our side… we love them all 🥰

And thank you to their owners, our wonderful customers for allowing us to do what we love every day ♥️🐾

This weekend, some of our more energetic guests headed off to The Dog Play Park for some extra fun and enrichment 🐾♥️

There was plenty of chasing, zooming and exploring, with tunnels to race through and equipment to clamber over!

Lily, of course, took her role as tennis ball guardian very seriously!

Marley wasn’t far from my side, making absolutely sure the supply of endless chin scratches didn’t run dry.

And Nell and Luca? They spent their time playing the ultimate game of chase… in every direction possible!

Days like this are exactly why we love offering a home from home dog boarding and doggy day care experience, giving each dog plenty of exercise, enrichment, socialisation and individual attention alongside their home comforts.

Small numbers, personalised care and happy, tired dogs at the end of the day 🥰🐾

Every dog is different when it comes to staying away from home.

Some dogs settle into a new environment almost immediately, while others need a little more time to feel comfortable and confident.

And that’s completely okay…and we are here to help.

For dogs who need a little longer to adjust, we always recommend building up visits gradually, starting with shorter sessions and allowing them to become familiar with our home, their new dog friends and the people caring for them, before progressing to longer stays.

It’s amazing to watch the difference this can make.

Those first visits might involve a little reassurance and plenty of observation, but with time, familiarity and positive experiences, confidence begins to grow.

One of my favourite parts of this job is watching and being part of that transformation, seeing a dog who was once unsure begin to arrive happily, settle confidently and truly enjoy their time here.

So, if you know your dog may need a little longer to settle somewhere new, please give them that time.

Planning a few shorter visits well before your holiday can make a huge difference to how comfortable they feel when the time comes for their longer stay.

Because confidence is built, not rushed.

We’ve been a little quiet on social media…

Not because we’ve slowed down, but because our days have been exactly where they should be…focused on the wonderful dogs in our care.

From sunrise walks and summer enrichment to new friendships, peaceful naps and plenty of cuddles, every day has been thoughtfully tailored to each individual guest.

Our priority has never been creating content, it’s creating an exceptional experience for every dog who walks through our door and joins our family.
