As temperatures rise this week, your dog’s safety comes first. At Happy Tails Pet Care, we believe no walk is worth risking your pet’s health.

That’s why, during periods of extreme heat, we’re offering drop-in visits as a safe alternative to daytime walks.

🐾 Our drop-in visits can include:
💧 Fresh water top-ups.
🚽 Toilet breaks in the garden.
🎾 Indoor play and enrichment.
❤️ Plenty of cuddles, company and attention.
❄️ Help keeping your pet cool and comfortable while you’re away.

Top tips for keeping your pets safe in hot weather:
☀️ Walk early in the morning or later in the evening.
🌡️ Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
💦 Ensure fresh water and shade are always available.
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car.
🐕 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including heavy panting, excessive drooling, weakness or collapse, and contact your vet immediately if you’re concerned.

🌞🐾 Hot Weather Update from Happy Tails Pet Care 🐾🌞

With temperatures set to soar this week, your pet’s safety and wellbeing always comes first. ❤️

Rather than taking dogs out for walks in the heat, Happy Tails Pet Care will be offering drop-in visits as a safer alternative during the hottest parts of the day.

During a drop-in visit, I can:
🐶 Let your dog out into the garden for a toilet break.
💧 Refresh food and water bowls.
❄️ Help keep them cool with plenty of shade and cooling techniques.
🎾 Provide enrichment, playtime and lots of fuss indoors.
❤️ Give them the attention and company they need while you’re away.

🌡️ Please remember during this heatwave:
🐾 Avoid walking dogs during the hottest hours (usually 11am–4pm).
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler.
🐾 Always check the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
🐾 Make sure your pets have access to fresh water and shade at all times.
🐾 Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting or collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet somewhere cool, offer small amounts of water, and contact your vet immediately.

Your pet’s welfare will always be my priority, and I’ll never risk walking a dog if the conditions aren’t safe.

What a fantastic day of adventures with some of our wonderful Happy Tails family members! 🌿☀️

From woodland explorations and grassy trails to sunny strolls in the countryside, our four-legged friends have certainly been making the most of the great outdoors today. 🐕❤️

A very special welcome goes to Cooper on his very first walk as part of the Happy Tails family! 🎉🐾 It was lovely getting to know him, and he settled in brilliantly while enjoying his new surroundings and making new furry friends. We can’t wait for many more adventures together!

Today’s walks were filled with plenty of sniffing, exploring, tail wags, and happy faces all around. There’s nothing better than seeing our dogs enjoying themselves and building their confidence while out and about. 🌳🐾

🐾 A Lovely Way to Start the Week 🐾

What better way to start the week than spending time with some amazing four-legged friends? ❤️

From peaceful lakeside walks and woodland adventures to plenty of sniffing, exploring, and tail wagging, every walk is a reminder of why I love what I do.

One of the things I enjoy most about pet care is getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Some are full of energy and eager to explore every path, while others are happy taking things at their own pace and enjoying the world one sniff at a time. No two walks are ever the same, and that’s what makes it so rewarding.

People often think dog walking is simply putting a lead on and heading out the door, but there’s so much more to it. It’s about understanding each dog’s needs, building trust, providing enrichment, and ensuring they feel safe, happy, and cared for every step of the way.

Seeing a happy dog enjoying their walk, exploring nature, and coming home content is one of the best feelings in the world.

Thank you to all the wonderful owners who trust me with their beloved pets. Being part of their lives is something I never take for granted.
