🐾 AVAILABILITY UPDATE – TUESDAY TO THURSDAY FULLY BOOKED!🐾

I genuinely can’t believe I’m writing this, but Loki’s Adventures is officially FULLY BOOKED Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday!🥹💚

I started Loki’s Adventures back in March 2023. At the time, I didn’t even drive I was quite literally walking to and from my clients’ houses before taking their dogs for their walks!*😂🐾

Fast forward to now and I have a diary full of incredible dogs, I’m able to offer carefully matched paired walks alongside my solo walks, and I’ve reached the point where I actually have to close parts of my diary to new bookings.

Little 2023 me would be VERY proud. 🥹

For the time being, my diary will therefore be CLOSED to new regular bookings Tuesday–Thursday so that I can continue giving my existing dogs the time, attention and quality of care they deserve.

🐶 Does that mean absolutely no new dogs?

Not necessarily!

I’m gradually introducing more of my dogs to suitable walking buddies, so spaces may occasionally become available within existing paired walks. Any new dog considered for one of these spaces would need to be a good match for the dogs already in my care, with introductions carried out gradually.

I’ll never pair dogs together simply to squeeze another booking into my diary compatibility and the dogs’ welfare will always come first.💚

I may also still have some availability on Mondays & Fridays, so enquiries for these days are very welcome.

And finally, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has trusted me with their dogs over the last few years, recommended me to friends, shared my posts or supported Loki’s Adventures in any way.

From walking between clients in 2023 to having three fully booked days in 2026… we’ve come a very long way. 🥹💚

🐾 Lunchtime adventures!

It’s been another busy few hours with plenty of play, training and enrichment!

🐶 Frankie bumped into an old friend and had the BEST time playing! Apparently 20 minutes of running around was quite enough though… because afterwards he was completely shattered and more than ready to head home 😂💤

🎾 Allie decided her ball was coming along for today’s adventure! She had a great time playing chase with it… alongside a little unplanned game of chase involving one poor cat 🙈🐱 Safe to say, the cat was slightly less enthusiastic about joining in!

🚦 Stanley is making some brilliant progress! His waiting at roads is coming along really nicely and his pulling on the lead has improved significantly. It’s always lovely seeing those little bits of consistent training starting to pay off. 🥹

🌿 And after a busy morning, Olive had a slightly calmer second outing. We slowed things down with some treat foraging, plenty of sniffing and a little bit of light recall practice because not every walk needs to be go, go, go! 🧠🐾

Four very different outings for four very different dogs — exactly how it should be! 💚

🐾What a morning!

We started the day with Sally & Gerald, and apparently Gerald has decided that paths are completely optional when there are squirrels involved… 😂He was quite literally jumping over hedges in pursuit of them!

Next up was the physical cloud that is Larry ☁️🐶 who enjoyed a lovely calm stroll and plenty of time to take in his surroundings.

Then it was Olive & Chloe’s turn! 🐾

The girls had some off-lead time together today, giving them the chance to play while also giving Olive the perfect opportunity to practise her disengagement and she absolutely nailed it! 🙌

Let’s face it… playing with Chloe is FAR more exciting than anything I could possibly offer Olive 😂 which is exactly why moments like these are so valuable for training.

Even in the middle of play, Olive was able to disengage from Chloe and come back to me whenever I asked. 💚

Being able to call a dog away from something they REALLY want to do is such an important skill. We’re not trying to stop them having fun we’re teaching them that they can enjoy themselves while still being able to listen and check back in when needed.

Super proud of her this morning! 🥹

Now onto the afternoon adventures! 💚

Fetch can be great physical and mental enrichment, but repetitive ball chasing involves sprinting, sharp turns, sudden stops and sometimes jumping/skidding, which can put considerable strain on muscles and joints. Always take in account your dogs age, physical health and fitness!

🐾 Let’s talk engagement… and more importantly, disengagement!

Olive absolutely LOVES pestering Loki 😂 Whether she’s trying to start a game, chasing him around or generally being a puppy, Loki is definitely one of her favourite distractions!

But something I’m really proud of is Olive’s ability to disengage when asked first time! 👏

Being able to call a dog away from another dog, person or exciting stimulus is such an important skill.

Play is great, but excitement can quickly build. Having the ability to interrupt that play and ask your dog to disengage gives everyone a chance to reset and can help prevent things from becoming too intense or overwhelming.

It’s also why I love working on engagement during our walks. ❤️

I don't want the dogs I walk to spend the entire time focused on me, I want them to sniff, explore, play and enjoy being dogs! But I also want to know that when I do need their attention, they can switch that focus back to me.

And Olive is absolutely smashing it. 🥹

Explore ➡️ Play ➡️ Disengage ➡️ Check in ➡️ Go have fun again!

Giving dogs freedom while still having that communication and control is exactly what we're working towards. 🐕

🐾 Milo is back off lead!🥳

After putting in a little extra work on his recall, Milo is back at it and recalling to a T! 👏

Consistency really is key when working with dogs. Sometimes they need a little refresher and going back to basics for a while isn’t a step backwards, it’s about making sure those foundations are strong before giving them more freedom again.

Today Milo absolutely smashed it, checking in beautifully and coming back when called, which meant he could safely enjoy that extra freedom to run, sniff and explore his surroundings. 🐕

It’s fantastic seeing him back off lead and enjoying his walks to the fullest. Well done, Milo! 💚

A little Lily update… 🥹🐾

While we were away on holiday, Lily went to stay with another foster family who are currently fostering her biological brother, Dodo (Adobi). And, well… I think you can probably guess what happened. 😂

They absolutely fell in love with her.

Lily settled in beautifully with Dodo and his family, and seeing the bond between her and her brother was enough to melt everyone’s hearts. So much so that they decided they couldn’t let her go… and Lily has now found her new home. 🏡❤️

But you might be looking at this photo and wondering… if Lily has moved out, why are Lily AND Dodo walking with Loki?! 😂

The truth is, Lily has always held such a special place in our hearts. After everything we went through together while fostering her, the house felt incredibly strange without her and we missed her dreadfully.

So when Lily and Dodo’s new parents had a holiday coming up, of course we offered to have both of them come and stay with us. 🥹
And I’m so glad we did.

Seeing Lily again has been wonderful, but seeing her alongside her biological brother has been even more special. There’s a confidence about her when she’s with Dodo that is just beautiful to watch. She’s still very much the Lily we know and love, but watching the two of them together makes it so clear just how comfortable she feels with him.

And apparently Loki has now found himself third-wheeling a sibling reunion. 😂

Fostering Lily was never going to be easy to say goodbye to, but knowing she’s found a family who adore her and gets to share her life with her brother makes letting her go that little bit easier. ❤️🐾

Although judging by how quickly we volunteered to dogsit… I’m not sure we’ve actually let her go at all. 😂

🐾 Allie… what have you got in your mouth? 👀

Allie showed up with something suspicious sticking out of her cheek!

Thankfully, when asked, Allie dropped it straight away. Times like this is exactly why I LOVE having a reliable “drop” cue.

Dogs explore the world with their mouths and, unfortunately, we can't control what other people leave behind.

Teaching your dog to willingly drop something can therefore be much more than a handy little trick, it can help you safely get something away from them before they swallow it.

Allie's face suggests she was slightly disappointed with my decision though… 😂

**What's the strangest thing your dog has ever picked up on a walk? 👇**

🐾 Building recall without rushing off-lead freedom

Olive is doing brilliantly with her recall! You'll notice she still has her lead attached and there's a reason for that!

She's still young and, understandably, other dogs and people can be VERY exciting. 😂
Allowing her lead to trail gives Olive the freedom to explore, sniff and practise her recall at a distance, while still giving me an extra layer of safety. If another dog or person appears at close range, I can easily pick up her lead before that excitement takes over.

Good recall isn't just about your dog coming back when nothing else is happening, it's about gradually building reliability around distractions too.

For now, Olive gets the best of both worlds: freedom to explore while we continue building the skills she needs. 🐕

🐾 This little behaviour might not look like much… but I LOVE seeing it on walks!

Olive is choosing to check in with me without being asked. 💚

Having a dog that voluntarily checks in during a walk is brilliant. It shows they're actively choosing to engage with you, even when they're surrounded by exciting smells, sights and other distractions.

Rather than expecting a dog to spend their entire walk focused on us, I want them to explore and enjoy being a dog while still remembering there's someone at the other end of the lead!

Those little glances back help build communication, engagement and ultimately make things like recall much easier to work on.

Explore the world 🌿 → check in with me 👀 → carry on exploring 🐕

That's exactly the balance I love to see.
