Siberian Amber was groomed after her housemate Ruby. She had oral sedation prescribed by her vet to help her tolerate being groomed as her coat is very prone to matting. Here she is relaxing on her favourite cat bed afterwards. Her coat was brushed out and shortened and her belly was clipped to remove curly fur which she doesn’t let her owner touch so always at risk of get matted.
She is a little overweight because she visits neighbours for extra food so we have to pay more attention to her rear end where clumps develop around her back legs and tail. 😻😻

Jamie had 5 months of growth which had become matted waiting for my recovery from my recent knee op so had gone a few weeks longer than normal for his maintenance groom. We gave him a lion cut as he hates brushing and has pride of place in my top 10 naughty kitties! 😻

This is Siberian Amber, sister of Milo who has a thick woolly coat very prone to developing knots and tangles. She protests strongly at being brushed out and clipped underneath almost as much as her brother, so more recently we have groomed her following a dose of gabapentin for mild sedation. Here she is sunning herself after her groom. Third housemate, Siberian Ruby (not pictured) who came from a different breeder, in contrast, has a very relaxed gentle temperament and purrs her way through her grooms, enjoying every minute!

We visit handsome Siberian Milo regularly to prevent his coat getting matted. His owner has always found it very difficult to groom him because he strongly resists and will lash out to prevent contact because he finds grooming stressful, and regularly suffers urinary tract infections. He tolerates shaving a little easier than
brushing out so with the help of gabapentin as a sedative we are able to complete the groom with much less resistance and stress. In this photo you can see that Milo had been to the vets between grooms to have a nasty gash on his back leg sutured. We carefully tidied up the growth around the vet-shaved area. Here he is chilling out in the sun following his groom, while the effects of his medication wore off.

We were called in to see Ragdoll Shadow 4 years old who has been rehomed 4 times. He has been with his current owners for 9 months. His coat became very matted after a stressful grooming experience some time ago with a previous groomer. As he can be feisty his owner was afraid to call in another groomer until now, when she thought he may benefit from healing and for his matted coat to be removed.
It took 2 sessions to remove the whole coat apart from his mane which wasn’t matted, preceded by healing each time to help him relax and start to build trust with me, aided by relaxing herbs.
This is Shadow during his 3rd session which was for healing only. He has issues with attacking and biting his dad’s legs and feet which we are now looking at. Shadow started out behind a sofa then came out and curled up on the sofa his mum was sitting on. I was able to work my way closer to him gradually and he continued to become more relaxed and fell into a deep sleep, not at all worried that I was right next to him. Watch this space for updates 😻😻

Monty hates being groomed and protests all the way. Afterwards he had a quick groom of his trimmed mane and came back, tail in the air, as if he wanted to be forgiven for his bad behaviour!

This is 16 year old Jinx from Guildford who had a partial clip of his very long coat a few months ago to remove some bad matting. On his second visit the remainder of his long coat was shortened to blend in with the regrowth and his belly clipped short to prevent more mats forming underneath. He has kidney disease and arthritis and is finding grooming himself a bit much now. He isn’t too keen on anyone else helping him either, so dad has to step in to assist, even though he had some prescribed meds from the vet as a mild sedative 😻😻

When I opened my bedroom shutters I found a bee upside down on the sill. I thought he was dead so I picked him up and then his legs moved. I got some honey, mixed it with water and placed it on some paper in front of him. He at first fell over and got honey on his back. I helped him upright and he started to drink. He fed non stop for over 5 minutes. I gave him healing and then left him to rest. After 20 minutes he had recovered enough to fly home. So happy I saved him

Siberian Simba became totally chilled towards the end of his groom! He’s already had mane trim belly clip trouser trim and hygiene trim. Mum is very good at brushing his coat out so we finished off with a comb through and followed Simba’s cues for where he wanted to be groomed when he exposed his belly 😻

Winston from Esher chilling after his groom. He had a brush out with belly clip, hygiene and paw trim. When I first went to groom him after he had been rescued he was very nervous and I gave him healing before he allowed me to demat his coat. He is now much more accepting of being groomed. Such a lovely boy 😻
