One of the most important stages in your puppy’s life ❤️

But what does proper socialisation actually mean?

It’s not about your puppy having to meet every dog, person or distraction they come across. It’s about teaching them that the world is a safe, positive place, helping them learn how to experience new things calmly and confidently. 🐶🐾

From new sounds and environments, to learning how to focus around other dogs, our Saturday puppy classes are designed to give your puppy the skills they need to navigate the big wide world.

And don’t worry about thinking…

🐾 Training isn’t just about obedience — it’s about building confidence in the real world! 🐾

Here are a few examples of what we’ve been working on with Koda lately.

🦆 Learning to manage her prey drive
Koda has a natural prey drive, so being around ducks is a great opportunity to work on calmness, focus and impulse control. Rather than expecting her instincts to disappear, we’re teaching her how to make good choices around exciting distractions.

📣 Long-distance recall
A strong recall is one of the most important skills a dog can have. We’ve been building Koda’s recall at greater distances, rewarding her for choosing to come back even when there are plenty of interesting things around her.

🪵 Getting comfortable with different textures
Something as simple as walking or standing on a bench can feel strange to a dog. Koda is learning that different surfaces and textures are nothing to worry about, helping build her confidence and willingness to explore new environments.

Training isn’t about rushing to the finish line. It’s about small steps, positive experiences and giving your dog the skills to handle the world around them. 🐶💪

Every distraction is an opportunity to learn, and every new experience is a chance to build confidence. ❤️
