As 2025 draws to a close at Lucky Wing Rescue, we’ve been reflecting on the journey of the last twelve months. Rescue isn’t always about the grand release or the perfect flight back to the skies; sometimes, it’s about the quiet moments in between.
This year, we’ve celebrated incredible miracles—birds that defied the odds and flew again.
We have rescued over 135 pigeons, doves and other animals throughout the year.
But we’ve also sat in the quiet of the night with the ones whose bodies were too tired to carry on.
To the ones we couldn't save: Thank you for trusting us in your final hours. You weren't alone, you were loved, and your names are etched into the heart of this rescue. You are the reason we fight so hard for the next one that comes through our door.
To our supporters: Thank you for holding space for us through the joy and the heartbreak. Whether it was a donation for medicine or a kind word when we were grieving a loss, you kept us going.
To our fellow rehabbers and rescuers: Well done. It has been such a tough year. You should be proud of yourselves.
Here is to every wing we mended, and every soul we held. We go into 2026 with tired hands, but a resolved spirit and big things to look forward to. 💚
