We are back from CSJ Open Agility Championships

Both girls did some great runs and put down a decent number of clears. Misffit was so happy, so happy in fact she decided she could take out a whole stride on her dog walk and aframe 🙈

No medals but lots of great runs. Brizz and I had a few nearly runs, just a blip in each then unfortunately she came off the aframe early and to the side so we quite while we were still in one piece!

Always wanted to try agility?????

We have one of our popular introduction to agility workshops happening on Sunday the 22nd November 10-12pm

This two hour session will give you and your dog, a little taster of Agility and how you get started in it. We will introduce your dog to low jumps, contacts and the tunnels. We will give you ideas for great handling foundations you can go away in practice.

It will take place inside or outside, depending on the weather a maximum of six dogs in the group. As it is a group class we ask the dogs are okay with other dogs as often dogs can be a little bit excited to be in the class! No experience is necessary. This is for complete beginners. However you will get more from the session. If you have a basic recall and your dog will happily take food or toy rewards.

As this an introductory session and low impact for the dogs we do accept younger dogs from around 9 months on this session

The outdoor competition season is drawing to a close - but the results keep flying in!

⭐️ Gaynor and Gus getting 3 wins 🏆🏆🏆and going grade 7 7️⃣!!!!!! Gus is Gaynor’s first agility dog so this is a fabulous achievement 👏👏👏👏

⭐️Emily and Moomin winning their grade 2 agility and going grade 3!

⭐️Fiona and Sula winning both their agility and jumping rounds which qualifies them for the Dogeria grand finals!! ( This is amazing considering the very short amount of time that fiona has had Sula and been training her for)!

🍁🍁Autumn training plans🍁🍁

Although the weather remains beautiful and sunny at the moment, we are nearing the end of the main competition season. It’s at this time of year our thoughts turn to what behaviours or performance has declined over the competition season.

It’s really common that as we progress through the season, certain criteria slips. Due to handlers not refinforcing criteria or allowing performance to slip.

Now is the perfect opportunity to start a addressing those skills 💪🐾💪🐾💪🐾💪🐾

Brizzle’s seesaw performance has eroded a little bit over the season. She has started to stop a little short ( I’ve chosen to train a four on with my last two dogs to help protect their bodies)

I love going back and reminding them of their criteria by refreshing on obstacle foundations. Below is our session in total. It was probably about six minutes long going from the initial presentation of target to full seesaw.

People often ask if having a baby and a puppy together are a good idea?

I would say it depends in the baby and the puppy 👶🧡🐾

Flash back to nearly 10 years ago when Beef and Monty were both babies 🫶

I decided the easier way to socialise the puppy was to teach him to ride in the bottom of the buggy - He would still hop in a buggy now if there was one big enough 😂
