Last week, I said goodbye to beautiful Maddie 🩷
Maddie was absolutely gorgeous, sassy, stubborn, and so incredibly loving. She was one of the very first dogs I took on and had been a solo walk from the beginning, which meant I had the privilege of building such a special bond with her. She was my calm amongst the chaos of a busy working day.
Walking Maddie meant slow strolls around the park, taking everything in at her pace, something I came to appreciate more than she probably knew. Thanks to her, I had conversations with people and met dogs I might otherwise never have had the pleasure of meeting.
Home time always seemed to come around far too quickly for Maddie. More often than not, she’d plant herself firmly on the ground and let me know she wasn’t moving until she’d had a few more sniffs 😆 Her stubborn streak never failed to make me laugh.
Whenever I was getting Maddie ready for her walk, I’d tell her how the weather was and if it was sunny, I’d always tell her the sun was shining just for her.
I hope the sun is shining for her every day now 🌈
Maddie: lover of snacks, big boy dogs, dog p**p, bum scratches, and lifelong hater of collies 🫶🏻
Thank you for all the slow walks, the stand offs, the laughs, the love and the tears I’ve had this week from remembering all our lovely times.
I’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know girl. Sleep tight ❤️ x
