let them get the biggest stick they can find, let them roll in the mud.
Let them swim and enjoy the water...because time sure flies and they won't be here forever

A dog is not just an animal, they're here to make you smile.
Always there for you, they could care less what you look like,
or how much money you have.
They won't judge you, or talk about you behind your back.

Every summer we see owners walking their dogs in temperatures that are simply too hot. The problem is that dogs don’t cool themselves like we do. They rely mainly on panting, and once they start to overheat, things can deteriorate frighteningly quickly.

A few simple changes can make all the difference:

• Walk early in the morning or wait until really late in the evening.
• Stick to grass where possible. Pavements can become hot enough to burn paws.
• Keep walks shorter than usual.
• Take water for both you and your dog.
• Be extra cautious with puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds, overweight dogs and those with thick coats.

The reality is this…

Your dog won’t suffer because they missed a walk. They can absolutely suffer from heatstroke.

If it’s too hot to exercise, swap the walk for enrichment at home instead. A snuffle mat, scatter feeding, frozen treats, scent games or a stuffed Kong can tire a dog out mentally without risking their health.
