🌾🐴💛 SPARTI’S FIRST SOLO HACK! 💛🐴🌾

Another little first for our gorgeous golden boy… and this time we headed out of the gates for Sparti’s first solo hack with us! 🥹💛

And what a good boy he was! 😍

He set off brave and bold on his own, happily taking in his new surroundings and everything the English countryside had to offer. 🇪🇸➡️🇬🇧🌿

Although apparently English drains are DEFINITELY worthy of a little side-eye… 👀😂

Nothing dramatic - just a quick “Excuse me, what exactly is THAT?!” before carrying on with the job! 🤣

After the recent rain, the ground was finally good enough to venture onto the stubble, so we even opened him up for a little canter… and I think it’s safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed himself! 😍🌾💨

What we loved most was how calm and rideable he remained throughout. For a young horse in a completely new country, hacking out alone somewhere he doesn’t know and experiencing things he won’t have seen before, we couldn’t have asked for much more from him. ❤️

We did have a few little calls on the way home when one of the horses back at the yard started calling to him - Sparti obviously felt it would be rude not to answer! 😂📣🐴

But other than that, he was an absolute superstar for his first time out. ⭐️

Another little box ticked, another bit of Sparti discovered… and another reason we’re becoming increasingly impressed with this lovely young horse. 🥹💛

Brave, sensible, willing… with just the appropriate amount of suspicion reserved for British drainage systems. 🤣🇬🇧

Well done, Sparti! 💛🐴✨

💛🐴 BOMBPROOF BABY? SPARTI SAYS… WHATEVER! 😂 🐴💛

Another little clip from our first sit on gorgeous Sparti… and this one made us smile! 🥹

While sitting on him, we decided to do a little bit of desensitising and swung a haynet around him - over his back, around his sides and generally making ourselves look rather silly! 😂🙈

And Sparti’s reaction?

Absolutely nothing. 🤣

No flinch. No scooting away. No drama. He just stood there completely unfazed, wondering what on earth the humans were doing now! 😂💛

For such a young horse, in a completely new environment and still only just settling into life with us, it was SO lovely to see him take another new experience so calmly.

Obviously he’s only 4 years old and we’re still right at the beginning of getting to know him, so there’s plenty more for us to learn about this gorgeous boy. But everything he’s showing us so far is giving us a huge smile. 🥰

Sweet on the ground, lovely under saddle and seemingly pretty unflappable when we start introducing strange things too…

Sparti, you’re making it very easy to like you! 🥹💛🐴

💛🐴✨ OMG SPARTI… LOOK AT YOU GO!!! ✨🐴💛

Well… I think it’s safe to say our first little ride on Spartan left us with VERY big smiles on our faces! 😍🤩

This gorgeous golden boy was absolutely incredible under saddle. ❤️

He is still very much a wobbly 4-year-old baby who has lots to learn, strength to build and is still figuring out exactly where all four legs are supposed to go 😂… but OMG, JUST LOOK AT HIM GO! 🤩🔥

He’s definitely more kick than pull, which at this stage we certainly aren’t complaining about! 😂 He just needs encouraging forward, building confidence and strength, and learning to carry himself as his education progresses.

But underneath that baby wobble… there is SO much horse there. 😍

The movement.
The presence.
The attitude.
And that gorgeous natural way of going. 💛✨

The potential in this horse is honestly UNREAL, and seeing these first little glimpses of what he could become is beyond exciting! 🥹🔥

Considering everything that has changed for him in such a short space of time - travelling from Spain, a completely new home, new routine, turnout, new people and now his first ride with us - we genuinely couldn’t have asked for any more from him. ❤️🇪🇸➡️🇬🇧

There’ll be no rushing and no drilling. He’s four, he’s green and his education will continue quietly and positively, concentrating on getting him confidently forward, stronger, straighter and more balanced. 🥰

Although, judging by the amount of interest this golden boy has already generated, we have a sneaking suspicion we might not actually get to keep him around for very long! 😂🥹💛

Whoever eventually gets to continue his journey is going to have one seriously exciting young horse on their hands.

For now though… we’re going to enjoy every minute of getting to know him.

Sparti… I think you might be a little bit special. 💛🐴✨

✨💛 EXCITING NEW ARRIVAL INCOMING… SPARTANS ARE COMING! 💛✨

Everyone, meet SPARTAN! 🐴🇪🇸

This gorgeous golden boy is currently on his way from Spain and will be arriving at Equine Amigos very shortly! 😍💛

⭐️ Approx 15.2/15.3hh (height to be confirmed)
⭐️ PRE Fusion gelding
⭐️ 4 years old
⭐️ And from everything we’ve seen so far, an incredibly chilled, laid-back and kind boy ❤️

And before anyone sees 4 years old and thinks “too young”… don’t let that number fool you! Spartan has already been trusted with very young children, and appears to have exactly the sort of sensible, easy-going nature that we absolutely LOVE here at Equine Amigos. 🥰

For us, temperament is everything. ❤️

As with every horse that comes through our doors, once Spartan arrives there’ll be absolutely no rushing. We’ll give him time to settle after his journey, then thoroughly assess him and, most importantly, enjoy getting to know him. 🐴💛

We’ll learn all about his personality, his ridden work, hacking, handling and what makes this lovely boy tick before we even begin thinking about the perfect home for him.

For now, we’re just VERY excited to finally meet him… 😍

Safe travels, beautiful boy. 🇪🇸➡️🇬🇧💛

SPARTAN IS COMING! ⚔️🐴✨

And something tells us you’re going to be seeing rather a lot of this golden face… 👀😂💛

Sunday pamper day for my beautiful Misty & Pedro 🥰🇪🇸

With this hot weather, these two had a lovely cool bath today, which they thoroughly enjoyed! Hopefully they’re feeling a little fresher and a lot less itchy now too. ❤️

These two are my own personal Spanish imports and very much the OGs of Equine Amigos. 🇪🇸🐴 Both originally came over with the idea that I would produce them and eventually find them new homes… but, as tends to happen with me, I fell completely in love with them and they never left. 😂 They both have my whole heart and are very firmly part of the family.

I definitely have a bit of a track record for falling in love with the horses I import, but I actually think that’s a huge part of why I do things the way I do.

There is never a rush for me to sell a horse. While they’re with me, they’re treated exactly as I would treat one of my own - they’re given time to settle, time to show me who they really are, and time for me to understand the sort of home and person they need.

Finding their forever person will always be far more important to me than simply making a sale. I won’t sell to the first person who comes along just because they’re interested. It has to feel right for the horse as much as it does for the person buying them.

And if that means they stay with me a little longer while we wait for the right person, that’s absolutely fine by me… although judging by my track record, there’s always the danger they might never leave at all! 😂🙈❤️

Misty & Pedro are living proof of that. 🥰🇪🇸

✨🤍 Sometimes the right ending just takes a little longer... 🤍✨

Our misunderstood golden boy, Luca, has officially been given his second chance... and this time, we just know he's found his person. ❤️

When Luca came back to us, I'll be honest, I questioned everything. But deep down I knew he wasn't a "problem horse" - he was simply a sensitive soul who needed someone to truly understand him.

The wonderful client who has welcomed Luca into her family is the same amazing lady who previously bought our beloved Koko, so I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that he has landed exactly where he was always meant to be.

Of course he's a little anxious while he settles into yet another new routine - that's completely understandable after everything he's been through. But this time, nobody is expecting him to be something he isn't. His quirks are understood, his sensitivity is appreciated, and he's being given all the time, patience and kindness he needs to feel safe.

Already, hearing how well he's settling in fills my heart with so much happiness. ❤️

Sometimes horses don't fail in their first homes... they're simply waiting for the home that truly sees them.

Everything happens for a reason, and I genuinely believe Luca's return was so he could find his perfect forever home. Watching this next chapter begin is incredibly special, and I cannot wait to see him flourish.

Be happy, my beautiful golden boy... you deserve the world. 💛✨
