🐶💚 Happy National Dog Day! 💚🐶

August 26th is all about celebrating the wonderful dogs who bring so much happiness, love and personality into our lives.

A huge thank you to all the lovely dogs I get to meet, walk and care for. It’s such a privilege to be part of their lives, even if it’s just for a little while. 🥰

So today give your dog an extra treat and an extra cuddle because they deserve it! 🐕💚

If I don’t answer the phone, I’m probably busy keeping a pet safe. 🐾📞

When I’m out on walks, visiting pets or caring for dogs, they have my full attention. That means I may not be able to answer calls if I’m walking, driving, managing leads, or during a meet and greet or handover.

The safety and wellbeing of the pets in my care will always come first, and I know my clients trust me to stay focused while I’m with their pets.

If you call and I can’t answer, please leave a voicemail, send a text or drop me a message. I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m free and able to give you my full attention.

Your dog’s routine affects your home more than you might realise. 🐶🐾

When a dog’s routine is disrupted, it can have a knock-on effect on the whole household. Whether they’re feeling under-stimulated, restless, lonely, or adjusting to a change, you might notice it in their behaviour and in your day too.

Regular walks, drop-in visits, consistent feeding, opportunities to rest, and quality one-to-one time all play an important role in helping dogs feel settled, confident and content.

Sometimes, a little extra support is all it takes to help everyone get back into a routine that works.

Every dog is unique, and details like their age, breed, routine, behaviour, health, recall, walking style and how they settle all help me understand exactly what they need.

The more I know before your booking, the better I can plan safe, personalised care that suits your dog and helps them feel happy, relaxed and comfortable.

Taking the time to get to know your dog isn’t just part of the booking process, it’s the foundation of providing the best possible care.

It only takes a moment for a dog to slip a lead or a worn piece of equipment to fail, so taking a few seconds to check everything before you head out can make all the difference.

Before every walk, take a quick look at:

If anything looks worn, damaged or doesn’t fit quite right, it’s always best to replace it before it becomes a problem.

As the warmer weather continues, it’s important to help keep our dogs happy, healthy and hydrated. Whether you’re heading out for a walk, travelling, or spending time in the garden, a few simple habits can make a big difference.

Here are 5 easy hydration tips every dog owner should remember:
💦 Keep fresh, clean water available at all times.
🥣 Pack a travel bowl for walks and days out.
🚰 Offer water before and after exercise or outings.
🌤️ Avoid walking during the hottest part of the day.
👀 Keep an eye out for signs like excessive panting, lethargy or seeking shade.

One of the things I hear most is, “I just have a few questions before booking…” 🐾

Here are the answers to the 5 questions I’m asked most often:

💷 1. How much do you charge?
🐕 Dog walks:
• 30 minutes – £10
• 1 hour – £15
• Additional dogs from the same household – £8 each

🏡 Daytime pet sitting:
• 30 minutes – £10
• 1 hour – £15

🌙 Evening pet sitting:
• 30 minutes – £15
• 1 hour – £20

📅 2. Do you have availability?
I have availability across all of my services, although it does vary depending on the day and time. Feel free to get in touch and I’ll always do my best to accommodate you.

💛 3. Can you help with nervous or anxious dogs?
Absolutely. I’m more than happy to work with nervous or anxious dogs where I can, taking the time to build trust and make them feel comfortable at their own pace.

🐶 4. Do you offer solo or group walks?
Both! I offer solo walks as well as small, carefully matched group walks. If your dog enjoys company, I’ll only pair them with dogs that have similar personalities and activity levels.

🏠 5. Do you offer boarding?
Yes! I offer in-home boarding, subject to availability, so your dog can enjoy a comfortable, home-from-home stay while you’re away.
