COCO HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HER OWNER!!

Update:

Dog was sold outside Waddon train station between 8.30am and 9am yesterday (16/08) to a couple (she had blonde hair, he was black) for £70

It was recorded on CCTV.

We need to speak to them urgently, the owner has just been discharged from hospital and is desperate to get Coco back.

STOLEN DOG – PLEASE HELP

Please help us to get her back home. She was stolen on Saturday 15 August 2026 from Haling Grove Park at about 17.30. Her owner was beaten by 6 men and was taken to hospital with injuries. The police are involved.

Coco is a small dog who needs to be found and reunited with her owner.

🌱 Grass seed season is in full swing! ⚠️

Grass seeds may be tiny, but they can cause big problems for our four-legged friends.

These small, sharp seeds easily cling to your dog’s coat when walking through long grass. Once attached, they can work their way into the skin, causing pain, irritation, and infection. The most common places they become lodged are:
🐾 Paws
👂 Ears
👁️ Eyes
👃 Nose

Keep an eye out for these signs:
• Head shaking
• Constant licking or chewing at a paw
• Swelling between the toes
• Sudden, repeated sneezing
• Red, swollen or watery eyes
• Licking or chewing at a sore spot on the skin

🔍 Prevention is key!
After every walk—especially through long grass—check your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, and coat for grass seeds. Keeping the fur around their paws and ears neatly trimmed can also help reduce the risk.

If you spot a grass seed, remove it straight away if it’s still on the surface. Once a grass seed has penetrated the skin, it can be difficult to find and usually needs to be removed by a vet using specialised instruments. Because the procedure can be uncomfortable, sedation is often required.

The photo above is a classic example of a grass seed in the paw. Our vet Emily used the ultrasound scanner (2nd photo) to identify where the grass seed was within the swelling so that it could be easily retrieved.

☀️ Stay extra vigilant this summer, and if you think your dog has picked up a grass seed, don’t wait—contact us as soon as possible. Early treatment can prevent more serious complications. 💚🐾

💙 OUR TIPS FOR ANDY — SUPPORTING HAREFIELD HOSPITAL 💙

Hi everyone 👋

As some of you may know, our Dog Hut family has been going through an incredibly difficult time this is why the lack of posts recently. It is with great sadness that we share that Lewis’s beloved dad, Andy, sadly passed away on 6th July 2026. 💔

In Andy’s memory, every single tip received at The Dog Hut for the remainder of 2026 will be donated to Harefield Hospital. 💙

Harefield Hospital holds an incredibly special place in our hearts. Their amazing team gave Andy 4 extra years with his family and, most importantly, extra precious time with his children and grandchildren. The care, dedication and support they gave him will never be forgotten.

So, for the rest of this month, if you choose to leave a tip after your dog’s groom, 100% of it will go directly towards our fundraiser for Harefield Hospital in memory of Andy.

There is absolutely no pressure to tip — we know times are difficult for many. Even sharing our fundraiser or this post means so much to us and helps us support a hospital that gave our family something money could never buy: more time with someone we loved. 💙

💔 We never thought we’d be writing a post like this.

In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 12:57am, our family business was targeted by a burglar.

Following police enquiries and CCTV investigations, officers believe this may be linked to a suspect involved in another incident the previous night. From what has been seen on CCTV, it appears the individual had little idea what they were actually looking for, but that hasn’t stopped them causing significant damage to our premises.

Windows have been smashed, blood has been left at the scene, equipment has been stolen, and our shop has been unable to operate.

As a small family-run business, this isn’t just a building. It’s our livelihood. It’s the result of years of hard work, sacrifice, long days, late nights, and the support of our amazing customers. To see it damaged in this way is absolutely heartbreaking.

At present we remain CLOSED while we await forensic investigators to attend the scene, recover evidence, and complete fingerprint examinations. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a reopening date.

We are offering a £5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person responsible.
