I wanted to share my experience using Pets at Peace Cardigan. I am not local and we were on holiday. Making our whole situation more emotional!!!!I would like to reassure anyone who is looking for
someone who is more than qualified to help them and their pet.

How do you begin to write a thank you letter to the person who cremated your beloved pet? I thought long and hard about whether it was emotionally right to thank the person who cremated a member of my family. But without you, Richard, my pain would have been a hundred times worse.
It all began that Monday lunchtime. We walked into Priory Vets, and it wasn’t even dear little Barney’s appointment—it was just a dressing change for my other dog. But I knew in my heart that something was wrong. Less than five hours later, my little gentleman, Barney Rubble, took his last breath. I howled, collapsing into a pile in the corner. Everything happened so quickly after that. As we were leaving the vets, you were arriving.
The care and love you showed Barney was so evident in the way you spoke to us and guided us through everything—from collecting his warm little body, to placing him in his scatter tube and crafting our keyrings.
When Barney’s original owner, Jean, passed away, she signed Barney and his little brother, Dougal, over to me through The Cinnamon Trust’s Forever Fostering programme. I made a promise to her to love and care for him through sickness and in health. I kept that promise, through and through. In fact, fulfilling that promise felt even more important than if I had chosen him myself as a puppy.
Barney lived the most amazing 17.5 years. When he wasn’t at home, he was travelling the UK in our campervan. He met so many wonderful people, and everyone only ever had eyes for him—the other dogs didn’t stand a chance! 😊
People often forget the intense anguish and emotion you must encounter every single day in your profession. In my experience, you are completely unique in the way you handle clients and their loved ones' final journeys. ❤️
We are returning to the same cottage for the first two weeks of September. I think I mentioned to you before that I am always chasing rainbows, wishing we could live down here permanently. Barney spent his last six days paddling in the sea and running on the sand. It was his ultimate happy place, and it brings me comfort that his journey ended there.
Please keep doing what you do, Richard. Never change. We would gladly drive 4.5 hours just to have you honour and look after our other dogs when their time comes.
