This protection dog training exercise demonstrates a controlled caravan search scenario.

The dog handler remains outside the caravan while the decoy is positioned inside. The decoy calls out to reveal their presence but does not physically expose themselves. The handler then sends the protection dog through the caravan doorway to engage the decoy using a controlled bite on a bite sleeve.

The exercise focuses on obedience, controlled deployment, confidence, handler communication and the dog's ability to work in a confined environment while following the handler's direction.

This is structured protection dog training carried out under controlled conditions.

King working on a search with an emergency stop and recall.

The exercise starts with the ball being thrown. As King runs towards it, he's given the command to leave it immediately, stop the chase, and return straight back to the heel position. Once back under control, he's then sent to search for the ball, locate it independently, retrieve it, and deliver it back to the handler.

This drill builds impulse control, obedience under high drive, focus, and the ability to switch from pursuit to a controlled search on command. The exercise is then repeated to reinforce consistency and reliability.
