A laminitic pony we started treating earlier this year & X-rays showed rotation of the distal phalanx, worse in the right fore, with very little sole depth. White Line Disease & An aggressive infection broke down the hoof's white line, compromising its structural integrity. After removing the affected hoof wall, we fitted a light steel shoe with a weld-in frog plate to shift the load onto the frog.
Medium-soft impression material was added for comfort and support under load. The foot will be treated with antibacterial hoof paste & Engemycin spray, and closely monitored over the coming months for gradual improvement.
