Cambridge Radiology Referrals We are a small team of very experienced professionals who specialise in providing outpatient veterinary imaging from the heart of historic Cambridge.

We are one of the UK’s most experienced providers of outpatient imaging having sub-specialised in this field since 1998. Our service is very different from many others in that each patient is seen by a radiologist who directs and is present throughout the whole procedure. They will make decisions about the type of scan, additional areas, additional procedures and whether biopsy is possible and appropriate. If so, all of this is done while the patient is with us. This ensures that we can get the maximum information from the procedure. A report is generated and submitted to the referring vet with some annotated images. Our Services

Here at CRR we have been busy curating an online charity art exhibition and sale. The recipient charity is a Cambridge based, children's mental health charity, Blue Smile. There is very little provision for poor mental health and we really need to support charities such as this.

The exhibition and sale is very diverse but I thought I would highlight some which might be of particular interest here.

Dogs are awesome!

Medical Detection Dogs hopes the retrained rescue and assistance dogs will, within weeks, be on duty detecting the scent of the virus and helping prevent its spread.

The news about cats and COVID 19 was perhaps not very clear this morning. Please do read this, the latest statement issued by the BVA specifically in relation to this topic.
Picture below is of one of our very much loved red tabby cats - Madge Mae. Share pictures of your lovely feline friends!

BVA President Daniella Dos Santos said:

“It’s incredibly important that information and advice for the public is clear and we regret that this news story will have caused worry and upset amongst cat owners.

“We are not advising that all cats are kept indoors. Only cats from infected households or where their owners are self-isolating, and only if the cat is happy to be kept indoors. Some cats cannot stay indoors due to stress-related medical reasons.

“There have been a tiny number of cases of Covid-19 in animals and in all cases, it is likely that the transmission was human to animal. There is no evidence that pets can pass Covid-19 to their owners.

“From the small number of cases it appears that dogs do not show symptoms, but cats can show clinical signs of the disease.

“It is also the case that animals can act as fomites, as the virus could be on their fur in the same way it is on other surfaces, such as tables and doorknobs. That’s why our main advice for pet owners continues to be to practise good hand hygiene.

“And, as a precaution, for pet owners who have Covid-19 or who are self-isolating we are recommending that you keep your cat indoors if possible, during that time.

“It is very important that people don’t panic about their pets. There is no evidence that animals can pass the disease to humans.”
