Looks like we possibly managed to get some help towards the neutering cost of the colony from Neasden. If all goes well, about 10 kittens will be able to go to their forever homes as of next week (if males), or in 2 weeks time if females. More to come.

We do not have any financial means to vaccinate them, so this is going to be an issue, but we are working on the solution to this as well. This is not how we do things-but equally, we are not able to take these cats on, and yet we are!

All cats need to be neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated, ideally FIV/FeLV blood tested, and of course, vaccinated twice.

NEUTERING is an absolute priority, and we hope there is a special place in hell awaiting these ignorant monsters, who can’t be bothered to neuter their cats. Different words should be used, but you all know what we mean. We have jobs, families and our own lives to live, and yet we keep cleaning up this mess. A pigeon would understand it quicker than some of those people charities talk to, when explaining neutering.

Now we need to figure out the logistics of transporting such volume of cats to a veterinary practice willing to do this at low cost, and they are nowhere near local to us. This is going to require about 6 hours per trip! And afterwards… post surgery care. All because some people don’t believe in neutering and give themselves the right to dump the problems they keep on creating onto those who have some common sense and empathy.

Here we go yet again… barely a tiny fraction of the number of cats we have left for death. Millions of homeless cats in Britain, yet people are breeding them. 🤯

EDIT: please note that these are not “free to a good home” kittens! We are NOT making money on them, but the adopter needs to contribute towards the cost of their neutering and vaccinating etc. Apologies for assuming this was obvious, but your “free” kittens mean bringing them to the vet for neutering, vaccinating, microchipping, flea and worming and ideally FIV/FeLV testing, which translates to around £450 for London… There is no such thing as a free kitten, unless the person never brings them to a vet, but we call this neglect and utter irresponsibility.

Kittens, kittens, kittens…
We are currently helping a rescuer who got stuck with over a dozen of kittens, and with no charity able to take them on.

Our own situation is: our premises (=our home!) got devastated with the constant influx of cats who p*e and poo literally floor to ceiling. Over £6K in debt on credit card for vet bills! Nearly 20 cats that will probably never get adopted as they are chronically ill or semi feral. Therefore… our problem now.

These cuties need neutering and vaccinating. Well, the CHARITIES who campaign for the funds to “tackle stray cats problem” will not issue countless neutering vouchers to those of us who are individual people trying to help the strays. Nope. Bushy Tail is not a charity. Aneta, who saved hundreds of strays, including this lot, is not a charity. The “premises” you see on the photos are of our own homes. But we get denied neutering schemes as apparently we take money out of the adoption fee. This excuse is so infinitely ridiculous that it makes us all want to sit at home and watch Netflix all evening. Only… some people still have enough compassion to not to walk away from sick, dying or pregnant cats.

These kittens need homes. We won’t rehome them unneutered, obviously, and we do have vets who can give us 30% off neutering and vaccinating. But to proceed with this, first of all we need some funds, and secondly, they need prospective adopters.

If you are interested in adopting any of them, please fill up the adoption form and we’ll figure out what to do with the veterinary needs of these cats. Right now, in honesty, it’s overwhelming, but most of all, it’s disheartening that this country doesn’t have a national government funded neutering scheme, like most European countries. UK did not need to be in this third world country crisis.

We are happy for the cats to be INDOORS, just please use common sense and understand that you’ll need to have your windows and balcony secured. This is not “too much” to ask, these kittens need to stay alive. If it’s too much, let’s not waste each other’s time.

MISSING CAT-WATFORD ‼️🆘
Can you please help us find Ziggy? He’s run out of the house on The Phillipers in Nt. Watford.
Ziggy lived in a home with a huge secured garden for 4 years, but he’s a clueless boy who’s never been outside since he was born. He’s an indoor/secured garden cat.

He came from a semi feral colony as a kitten, and he’s always been tricky to handle, so there’s no chance to just pick him up,but he’s a very sweet and kind boy, and he’s never known any harm.

The search for Ziggy in the area is 24/7. He has a distinctive eye patch and he’s a chunky boy. If you see him, please let us know day or night time, and we’ll be with you immediately.

Ziggy had a tough start in life, having been found in a pile of sick and deceased kittens. We managed to save the lives of 17 out of them, but it took 6 months for him and his siblings to get back to health. Hes got a wonderful home. He’s neutered, microchipped, insured and loved. He doesn’t know how to find food. He doesn’t know how to fight with other cats or foxes. His life is genuinely at risk.

Please check your sheds and garages.
Please don’t try picking him up, just call us and we’ll be with you immediately.

Help us find this boy, and reunite him with his family, who are devastated.

When you’re “feral”, but also veeeerry sleepy! Fidelio’s priorities!

Fidelio, Carmen and Faust are our semi feral kitties awaiting to be adopted. They are almost one now.

Just a regular shopping day! 🙈 (And more trapping at night!)
We go through one bag of cat litter per day and it feels like such a waste of funds on 💩! Thankfully Costco has Catsan on sale this week.

We are out of cat food, but we managed to order some at trade prices at £150 thanks to generosity of Elsa and Martin at Arts And Vintage in Highgate, who always help us feed the cats in our care with the cat food they sell. We are due to pick up an order from them on Thursday. We usually dip into our personal funds, but we are running on empty right now, and this can’t be happening permanently. If you’re passing by their shop and if you could contribute to our invoice, we would be grateful. And if you are able to send us some funds to our rescue’s bank account, we would appreciate it hugely! 😻🐈‍⬛

Charlie and Malcolm had their dental extractions last week, and we went to the vet with their cat dad, who took on them as strays and financed their entire veterinary care. The boys did very well! We were worried especially for Malcolm who has heart issues, and when we had him castrated, he had to go through a far more expensive procedure to ensure he wakes up safely. All went well in the capable hands of Fauna Vets!

Post surgery check up tomorrow!
