🇬🇧🐟 “You Need to Cycle the Tank, Lad!”
Young Tommy had just bought his very first aquarium.
Excited as could be, he marched into the local fish shop and asked an old British chap named Arthur for advice.
Arthur adjusted his flat cap, stroked his grey moustache and said,
“Before you add any fish, lad, you need to cycle the tank.”
Tommy nodded seriously.
“Right. Cycle the tank.”
The next morning, Arthur nearly dropped his tea.
There was Tommy pedalling down the high street with a glass aquarium strapped to the back of his bicycle.
Round the park he went.
Past the bakery.
Past the post office.
Past the pub.
Again and again.
Arthur chased after him shouting,
“What on earth are you doing?!”
Tommy stopped, completely out of breath.
“You said I had to cycle the tank! I’ve done twelve miles already!”
Arthur burst out laughing.
“No, lad! Not THAT kind of cycling!”
He explained that aquarium cycling means building healthy bacteria in the filter so fish can live safely in the water.
Tommy scratched his head.
“Well that would’ve been useful to know before I wore out my tyres.”
These days, many aquarium owners discover there’s a lot more to fishkeeping than feeding the fish. Water quality, filter maintenance, algae control, equipment checks and regular servicing all help keep an aquarium healthy and beautiful.
That’s why many London homes, offices, restaurants and businesses trust SA Aquatic to handle the hard work for them.

Because the only thing that should be cycling is your aquarium’s biological filter… not you riding around London with a fish tank on a bicycle. 🚲😂
