I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly! 👋🏼

If you’re new here, I’m the face behind Loki’s Lounge Dog Grooming a small, 1:1 home based grooming salon where I get to spend my days doing what I love… making dogs feel (and look!) amazing. 🐶❤️

This is me! I absolutely love dogs and feel incredibly lucky to have turned that love into my own business. Every dog that walks through my door gets treated as an individual, with patience, care and plenty of fuss.

Just a little wrap-up of my summer ☀️🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who has kept me so busy over the summer. I’m incredibly grateful for all your continued support and for trusting me with your amazing dogs.

I’m also especially thankful to those of you who kindly moved your appointments around so I could take part in the Welsh Team Championships. It really meant a lot to me to have your support and understanding.

Things are getting busier, and I’m now fully booked around 4 weeks ahead. If you know when you’d like your dog’s next appointment, I’d recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Appointments for the remainder of the year are now available to book, so please get in touch if you’d like to secure your regular slots.

Someone was such a superstar for their very first full groom! 🐶✨

A puppy’s first full groom is all about creating a positive experience. We take things at their pace, introducing the sights, sounds and handling gently so they can build confidence with every visit.

This little one was an absolute pleasure and left looking beautifully fluffy, feeling fresh, and ready to take on the world. 💛

Starting grooming young helps puppies become comfortable with the process, making future appointments much less stressful for everyone.

Every dog is different, and that's why I never believe in rushing an appointment just to keep to the clock.

Some dogs need a little extra time to settle, some need more reassurance, and sometimes we need to change the plan to make sure the experience stays as positive and stress-free as possible.

Listening to what a dog is telling me helps build trust and confidence, making future visits easier and more enjoyable for them.

Grass seed season is here, so please take a moment to check your dog’s paws after every walk, especially if you’ve been through long grass.

Grass seeds can easily become trapped between the toes or work their way into the skin, causing discomfort, infection and sometimes needing veterinary treatment if they’re not found early.

A quick check only takes a minute and could save your dog a lot of pain. While you’re there, it’s also worth checking around the ears, eyes and under the armpits, as these are common places for grass seeds to hide.

If you notice your dog persistently licking a paw, limping, or showing signs of discomfort after a walk, it’s best to contact your vet.

Last week was a bit of a whirlwind… and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! 😂

Between 7am starts, finishing as late as 8pm on some days, and trying to remember what day it actually was, it’s safe to say I’ve been kept on my toes.

To top it off, I had the privilege of representing Southerndown Golf Club, and we’ve made it through to the Welsh Team Championship knockout round in August. Looking forward to seeing how we get on!

As for photos of all the lovely dogs I’ve groomed… well… once again, I was completely distracted by waggy tails, happy faces and giving out far too many fusses. My camera roll suggests I hardly worked at all! 🫣😂

Thank you to every one of you for keeping me so busy and trusting me with your dogs. I genuinely appreciate every booking, every recommendation and every bit of support.

What a week it’s been ☀️

I can’t complain though I do love the sunshine, and I even managed a little beach day with the kids. 🏖️

Despite the heatwave, all the dogs have been groomed in an air-conditioned room, with no-heat drying to keep them as comfortable and cool as possible. 🐾
