What a Sunday mantrailing at Kenfig Nature Reserve!

We had a few experienced teams attend, so it was time to up the difficulty.

We added something completely different into the picture… open stairs 👀

Honestly, it was so interesting watching each dog work it out! Some went straight for it, while others needed a little more time to problem solve and build their confidence.

Not every team made it to the top and that’s absolutely fine! We work the dog in front of us and build each team individually 🙌🏻

17,000 steps, 7 tired dogs and another brilliant morning of mantrailing!

Definitely one we’ll be doing again 👀

What a Mantrailing Introduction yesterday! 🙌🏻

We definitely had the working breeds out in force for this one 👀

Everyone absolutely smashed it and the difference from the first trail to the last was amazing! 🙌🏻

That’s officially our last Mantrailing Introduction of 2026!

There won’t be another Intro now until January, but we’ve got plenty of Progression Sessions to keep everyone busy until then 👀

The best days are when we spend the whole day talking about, training and being around dogs 🙌🏻

Started the day with Shepsky working on his play and loose lead walking. So much improvement from this boy already!

Then an assessment with Lola. She’s frustration-based reactive, so there’ll definitely be more on her coming soon 👀

Next up was little Hope, building her confidence and introducing some new pictures around Cowbridge town centre.

Finished the day meeting my dad’s new puppy followed by my little sister having a play with Pretzel.

And not forgetting we somehow fitted in walking all of our own dogs too 😂

Couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Days like this are exactly why I love what I do ❤️

Another amazing Sunday mantrailing!

We had a brilliant variety of teams out with us this week, all at different stages of their mantrailing journey and working on different skills.

A special mention has to go to Floyd, who is now blind but is still absolutely loving his mantrailing! His eyesight might have changed, but that nose certainly hasn’t. It was fantastic watching him get out there and work his trails.

That’s one of the things I love about mantrailing. We can adapt the training to the individual dog in front of us, regardless of age, breed or ability.

Super proud of all the teams and another fantastic morning on the trails!

Fantastic morning of training in Porthcawl!

This morning we were out working with a few of our regular dogs, each progressing towards their individual goals.

• Arres – working on calmly passing other dogs without reacting.
• Dougal – a friendly, overexcited dog learning to stay calm around people and other dogs.
• Hunter – continuing to build neutrality and confidence around other dogs.

Reactivity isn’t something that’s “fixed” overnight. It’s about building the right skills, creating positive experiences, and helping dogs make better choices in real-world environments.

Really pleased with everyone’s progress today. Consistency pays off. 👏

From September, we have a limited number of membership spaces becoming available.

Let’s talk about this weather! ☀️🐶

With another week or so of warm weather ahead, now’s a good time to think about helping our dogs cope with the heat.

One thing I’d recommend is a good quality cooling coat. The two I’ve seen and been impressed with are the Ruffwear Swamp Cooler and the Non-stop Dogwear Cooling Vest.

They won’t make it safe to walk in the heat of the day, but they can help your dog stay cooler on early morning or late evening walks, when temperatures are lower but humidity can still be high.

Another bit of kit worth considering is an Aluminet shade sheet. If you’re parking up to walk, it helps reflect the sun and keeps your vehicle cooler while you’re out.

Every dog is different, so always assess the conditions and your own dog before heading out.
