This weekend we travelled over 6 hours each way to the other end of the UK for something incredibly special… bringing together these two beautiful souls. 🤍

What many people don’t see is everything that happens before a responsible mating ever takes place.

In the days leading up to this weekend, Olive underwent a series of progesterone blood tests to pinpoint the safest and most appropriate time. We then travelled across the country, stayed away for three nights, and attended a specialist reproductive clinic for two professionally assisted matings.

It’s a huge investment of time, planning, emotion and money—but for us, this is what responsible breeding looks like.

Every decision we make is centred around giving our dogs and their future puppies the very best possible start. We can’t control Mother Nature, and there are never any guarantees when it comes to creating life, but we can make sure we’ve done everything within our power to support the best possible outcome.

Now the next chapter begins.

Over the coming weeks, Olive will be treated exactly as though she is expecting. We’ll be following her pregnancy care protocol, ensuring she has everything she needs while we patiently wait for the moment we can book her ultrasound in around 30 days post mating.

So now… we wait, we hope, and we keep everything crossed. 🤞

Whatever the outcome, we’re incredibly proud of the care, science, planning and dedication that has gone into this journey so far, and we’re so excited to share every step with you as we work towards establishing healthy, happy Golden Cavaliers here in the UK.

So now the waiting game begins…

Please keep Olive in your thoughts over the next few weeks. ❤️

Frozen Enrichment Part 3

🌿❄️ Looking for another way to add a little variety while keeping your dog cool, hydrated?

Frozen ice bowls

🥒 Line a large bowl with cucumber slices and blueberries.
🥣 Place a smaller bowl inside and weigh it down with a tin.
💧 Fill the gap with water and freeze.
❄️ Once frozen, remove the bowls and you’re left with a stunning ice bowl with fruit embedded throughout.

Perfect for encouraging hydration, providing mental enrichment and helping your dog stay cool on hot summer days.

As always, introduce new foods gradually and supervise your dog while they enjoy any enrichment activity.

Would your dog love this? Save this reel to try later and tag us if you make one! 🐾💙

❄️ The easiest summer enrichment idea? A frozen lick bowl! 🐾

It doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated to keep your dog happy and cool.

Simply:
🥕 Add a few dog-safe vegetables
🥣 Sprinkle in a little of their regular kibble
💧 Fill the bowl with water
❄️ Freeze for a couple of hours

That’s it!

As the ice slowly melts, your dog has to work to uncover the tasty surprises inside, providing:
💙 Cooling on warm days
💙 Extra hydration
💙 Mental stimulation
💙 A longer-lasting activity than simply eating from a bowl

The best part? You’re using food you probably already have at home, making this a budget-friendly enrichment activity that your dog will love.

What are your dog’s favourite frozen treats? Let me know in the comments! 👇🐶

Frozen enrichment time! 🫐🐾

One of our favourite ways to keep the dogs happy, occupied and mentally stimulated is with homemade frozen enrichment treats.

These peppers are stuffed with dog-friendly goodies like natural yoghurt, fresh blueberries, bananas, meat and a splash of water before being popped into the freezer. They make a refreshing treat on warmer days while encouraging natural licking, chewing and problem-solving behaviours.

Enrichment doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive—it’s a wonderful way to add variety to your dog’s day, provide mental stimulation and make mealtimes more rewarding.

Just remember to choose ingredients that are safe for your own dog and introduce any new foods gradually.

Do you make frozen enrichment treats for your dogs? We’d love to hear your favourite combinations! 🐶💙
