My name is Charlotte and I am an experienced qualified veterinary nurse with over 11 years of experience working with dogs and cats. I work full time Tuesday - Fridays with 1 in 8 Saturdays & Mondays and am looking to provide some pet services on my days off Saturday - Mondays. My husband Jed and I recently lost our Chocolate Labrador Riley before New years 2024 and he was our entire world. I miss him dearly and so wanted to name my side hustle after him. I'm a huge animal lover and will miss my regular weekend adventures with my boy so wanted to provide a service to help others with their pets in times of need. I can offer the following:
- Dog walks/dog social/play time visits/feeding/couple of hours boarding in my home if required
- Cat visits/feeding
- Giving of medications
- Nurse routine checks: weight loss advice, diet and nutrition, dental care, nail clipping on well behaved pets, and any concerns I have will be advised to see a veterinary surgeon. All pets must be insured and up to date with vaccinations. I live near Braintree but work in Hertfordshire so I can potentially accommodate certain requirements around my full time job during the week depending on need, times and where you're based. 😻 These 3 kitties had their regular nail clipping appointment and how brave they all were! 😻

They didn’t run away, they let me stroke & they all ate with me next to them with no flinching or being worried, as a post nail clipping dinner treat!

🐶 One brave pooch 🐶

Roaming with Riley is my little side passion where I can spread the love and joy in my own time to your furry friends who need my services, but my full time big girl job is being a veterinary nurse, where I can make a difference and save lives 💜

This poor pooch found herself in a spot of trouble after being attacked by another dog and she was left with a wound that required surgery. 💉

Qualified registered veterinary nurses can perform schedule 3 procedures under the direction of a veterinary surgeon and the RCVS code of conduct 📚🩺

Schedule 3 skills vary from taking bloods, placing catheters, performing certain surgeries and doing dentals procedures, giving medications & fluid therapy, monitoring anaesthetics, taking X-rays, giving vaccinations & many more.
As well as being cleaners, professional cuddlers, managers, clinical coaches to the student nurses, running nurse consults, giving advice on weight management and nutrition, nail clips and again, much more 🐾

Whilst my veterinary surgeon was doing a dental procedure in our prep area, I was in theatre fixing this little lady with one of my other nurses who was monitoring her sedation 📈💤
The surgery required debridement of the wound, lots of flushing to remove any debris, surgically removing some necrotic tissue, placing a drain and suturing the wound👩🏼‍⚕️

She recovered nicely & was back home with mum and dad after a few hours with a wagging tail 😊🐾
She went home with some pain relief and antibiotics and will be back to see me next week to check her wound and remove the drain 💜

I get to be a voice for those who don’t have one & it’s a career I’m proud of 🐾
8 year old me when I used to line my Dalmatian teddy’s up for their classroom, would be going crazy knowing where she’d be in 20 (shh) years time 🥹

These 3 cuties had their claws trimmed today .. but only for treats in return! 😂😻

They’re naturally nervous nellies but this time on their 2nd nail clip with me, they didn’t run away after! They were sniffing, relaxing & watching rather than running up the stairs away from me!

So proud of them for being so brave! 🥳💙💕
