Today is National Pet Day, and I wanted to share a little tribute to my beautiful boy, Ralph, who I heartbreakingly had to say goodbye to last month.

Ralph was the happiest soul. One of his many nicknames was “Chopper” because his tail wagged so fast it went in a full circle. He was always ready to make a new friend and never one to turn down a bit of fuss. He was also wonderfully cheeky — his favourite game was stealing the TV remote, just to start a very slow game of chase while I “tried” to catch him. And every night at exactly 8pm, without fail, he would bark at me until I came and sat on his bed for a cuddle… even though he was always allowed on the sofa. I just had to go to him.

Ralph came to live with us after his previous owner sadly passed away. I like to think they’ve now been reunited at the rainbow bridge, and that he’s been telling them all about his adventures and just how loved he truly was.

I miss him more than words can say — the house feels quieter, and there’s a space that will always belong to him.

Run free, my sweet boy. Until we meet again 💛

Hi, I’m Wendy 👋

With the recent changes, I thought it was a good time to reintroduce myself!

I’ve been dog walking for the past two years, and caring for dogs every day has only strengthened my love for what I do. Before starting my own journey, I worked and volunteered in rescue centres and gained my qualification in Animal Care and Welfare while working in a veterinary hospital — experience that truly shaped the way I care for every dog.

At home, I have two Labradors, Murphy and Ralph, who keep life full of fun and muddy paws. They’re the inspiration behind my logo and the heart behind everything I do.

Why the name Snuffling Snoots?

It all comes down to my love of enrichment and allowing dogs to explore the world through their noses. Whether they’re catching up on their “pee-mail” during a walk or sniffing out treats in a puzzle feeder, I believe a well exercised and mentally enriched dog is a happy dog.

I’m so excited to continue this journey and can’t wait to care for more of your amazing dogs! 🐶

An update from Fairytails!

I wanted to share some news regarding some recent changes here at Fairytails. Kat has decided to move on and explore a different career path. She leaves with my very best wishes, and I know she’ll do brilliantly in her next chapter.

As I’m now going solo, I’ve decided it feels like the perfect time for a little refresh… so at the end of February, Fairytails Pet Services will officially become Snuffling Snoots!

The most important thing to say is that nothing is changing when it comes to your pets. They’ll continue to receive the same love, care, cuddles, exercise and enrichment as always.

Finally, I would like to thank all our wonderful customers whilst I’ve been rearranging the diary and getting everything sorted. I’m so grateful for all your continued support and I can’t wait to continue caring for your lovely pets under my new name.
