The 2-minute post-walk routine: The late-season tick check! ๐พ๐๐พ
Even though autumn is knocking on the door, September remains one of the most active times of year for ticks in the UK! Warm, damp days mean bracken, long pasture grasses, and woodland undergrowth are still teeming with small parasites looking for a ride.
Before you put your feet up tonight, take two minutes to run your fingers firmly through your pet's fur, paying close attention to these high-risk areas:
Around the eyelids, muzzle, and under the collar
Under the armpits and around the groin
Between each toe and underneath the paw pads
The base of the tail and around the belly
If you find a tick, always use a dedicated tick-twister tool to remove the head cleanly without squeezing. ๐ฟโจ
