Let’s talk about muzzles 🐾

I wanted to write a little post about something that often gets misunderstood when people see dogs out on walks! Muzzles!

One of the dogs I walk wears a muzzle, and people sometimes assume the worst when they see it. The reality is that muzzles don’t automatically mean a dog is aggressive or dangerous. They are simply a safety and management tool that responsible owners choose to use for many different reasons.

In her case, she wears a muzzle because she’s currently in that teenage phase of being a dog, pushing boundaries and testing things a little more. Like many young dogs, she also loves to pick up and eat absolutely everything she finds on the ground during walks. So we decided to take things one step at a time and rule out different things, and the muzzle helps keep her safe while we work through this stage. In fact, she’s one of the sweetest, happiest dogs you could meet.

Sometimes people will cross the road when they see a dog wearing a muzzle, and while I understand people may be cautious, it’s worth remembering that a muzzle often shows an owner who is being responsible and proactive about their dog’s needs.

It’s also important to remember that just because a dog isn’t wearing a muzzle doesn’t mean they don’t still deserve space and respect. Every dog has their own boundaries, training journey, and reasons for how they’re managed on walks.

Muzzles are not cruel when they are properly fitted and introduced positively. Dogs can still walk comfortably, sniff, drink, and enjoy their time outside. They are simply another tool that helps keep everyone safe.

Let’s normalise responsible dog ownership and remove the stigma around muzzles 🐶🐾

Been a little quiet on here the last couple of weeks as life got busy with birthdays and work 🎉🐾
But we’re back to our normal routine of walks, nearly always dry paws and happy dogs!

I can’t quite believe it’s been a whole year since I officially opened my pet sitting and dog walking business 🤍🐾

What an amazing year!

Over the last 12 months I’ve completed so many dog walks, drop-ins and home stays, from regular weekly walks to overnight house sits, puppy visits, senior dog care and everything in between. I’ve spent early mornings, late evenings, rainy days and sunny adventures doing what I genuinely love.

I am so incredibly grateful to every single client who has trusted me with their dogs and homes. It means more to me than you probably realise. Allowing someone into your home and to care for your pets is such a big thing, and I never take that trust for granted.

To all my regular weekly walkers, my last-minute bookings, my holiday home sits, and the dogs that have become part of my routine, thank you. Your support, recommendations and kind words have helped my little business grow more than I ever imagined in just one year.

I feel so proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m even more excited for what this next year will bring. More muddy paws, more wagging tails, more adventures and more lovely clients 🐶✨

Well that escalated quickly 😅🐾

I’ve somehow managed to smash my 99km Dogs Trust walking challenge in just one week…
105km (65 miles) from Monday to Monday 🚶‍♀️🐕

Between walking my own dog and my client dogs, the miles have absolutely flown by and it’s been so nice knowing it’s all been for a good cause. Walking is basically my whole life anyway, so this felt pretty natural 😂

Even though I’ve hit the target already, I’ll carry on walking and keep the challenge going 💛

I’m taking on the Dogs Trust 99km Canine Walk 🐕✨
Over the coming weeks I’ll be walking 99km to help raise vital funds for Dogs Trust, supporting dogs in need across the UK.

I’ll be counting all of my walks with my lovely client dogs too 🐶🚶‍♀️, and as I already average around 24,000 steps a day, once I hit the 99km I won’t be stopping there! I’ll be continuing to walk even further!

Every donation, no matter how small, helps give dogs a second chance at a happy, safe life. If you’re able to donate or even just share my link, I’d be so grateful 💙

Exciting news! 🐾🚐

Following the purchase of a fully kitted, secure dog walking van, I now have availability for a Tuesday morning group walk in the Queen’s Park area!

Pick-ups are available along the route from West Parley to Queen’s Park 🐶

I also have availability for a group walk on Mondays and Fridays in West Parley, either morning or afternoon, depending on what works best for the majority of dogs.
