🎆🐾 FIREWORKS SEASON IS APPROACHING — DON'T LEAVE CALMING SUPPORT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE! 🐾🎆

Is your dog worried about fireworks, loud bangs or unexpected noises? 🧡

At Around The Block Dog Supplies, we stock Dorwest calming support to help you prepare your four-legged family members for the firework season.

🌿 Dorwest Valerian Compound is a popular choice for dogs who need a little extra support with relaxation.

🐾 We also have a range of calming products to help you find an option that suits your dog's individual needs.

⏰ Please don't wait until fireworks night! Some calming supplements may need to be introduced in advance to give you time to assess how your dog responds. Always follow the product's feeding instructions and check with your vet if your dog has significant anxiety, takes medication or has any underlying health conditions.

🎇 Remember, calming support works best alongside a safe den, closed curtains, background noise and plenty of reassurance.

🧡 Pop in and chat to us before the fireworks begin. Let's give you time to plan ahead rather than trying to find a solution when the bangs have already started!

🎆🐾 FIREWORKS SEASON IS COMING — HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT CALMING SUPPORT FOR YOUR DOG? 🐾🎆

Does your dog struggle with fireworks, loud bangs or other unexpected noises? 🧡

At Around The Block Dog Supplies, we're encouraging you to plan ahead and explore calming support before the fireworks begin!

🌿 PROFLAX CALMING SUPPORT

🐾 The Ultimate Superchew – Calming
A tasty soft chew containing Omega Calm fish oil, L-tryptophan and a blend of botanicals, including valerian, withania, passionflower and lemon balm. A convenient option for dogs who prefer a treat rather than a liquid supplement.

💧 The Ultimate – Omega Calm Oil
A liquid blend containing Atlantic salmon oil and a herbal tincture of withania, valerian, bacopa, passionflower, lemon balm and avena sativa. Ideal for owners who prefer to add calming support to their dog's feeding routine.

🧡 Why start early?
Every dog is different, and supplements aren't an instant solution for every dog. Introducing a product in advance gives you time to follow the feeding instructions and see how your dog responds, rather than waiting until fireworks night.

🎇 Remember: Calming supplements are just one part of supporting your dog. Create a safe, cosy space, close the curtains, use background noise and keep your dog safely indoors when fireworks are expected.

🐾 Not sure which option might suit your dog? Pop in and have a chat with us — we're always happy to help you explore the options!

🐾🍽️ SUNDAY DINNER SHOW & TELL! 🍽️🐾

📸 What's in your dog's bowl this evening? 🐶❤️

We want to see your gorgeous dogs enjoying their Sunday dinner tonight! 😍 But we'd also love to hear your stories, share experiences and help other dog owners discover what's working for their four-legged family members.

🐕 HERE'S WHAT WE'D LOVE TO KNOW! 👇

🥩 1. WHAT'S ON THE MENU?
Post a photo of your dog enjoying their dinner and tell us what they're eating. Is it raw, cooked, homemade or something else?

🏷️ 2. WHO MAKES IT?
Tell us the brand or manufacturer, and why you've chosen to feed it.

😋 3. IS IT THEIR FAVOURITE?
Or is there another food or treat that sends them into absolute overdrive? 😂

🐾 4. HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR DOG'S FOOD SINCE VISITING US?

This is the bit we're especially interested in! ❤️

➡️ What were you feeding before?

➡️ What did you change to, and what are they eating now?

➡️ What prompted you to make the switch?

➡️ Have you noticed any positive changes in their coat, digestion, appetite, energy levels or general condition?

💚 LET'S HELP EACH OTHER!

If you've been thinking about changing your dog's food but aren't sure where to start, hearing about other owners' experiences can be a really useful starting point.

Every dog is different, and what suits one might not suit another. By sharing our experiences, we can help each other explore options and make more informed choices for our best friends. 🐶❤️

📸 YOUR TURN! Let's fill the comments with happy dogs, delicious dinners and real-life feeding experiences. Whether you've got a fussy eater, a four-legged foodie or a dog who would eat absolutely anything, we'd love to see them!

🐾 Natural remedies, supplements and our freedom of choice — please take a moment to read this.

Good evening, everyone.

As many of you know, I am truly, madly and deeply passionate about anything that may affect the health and wellbeing of our best friends.

I have recently been looking into the proposed UK–EU Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) agreement, and I think it is something worth understanding.

The UK Government has confirmed that the proposed agreement includes alignment with EU legislation covering food supplements, vitamins and minerals, food and feed safety, and certain animal-related products. The agreement is intended to take effect around mid-2027, although negotiations are ongoing.

So why should we be paying attention?

Changes to regulations can affect which ingredients are permitted, how products are formulated, what claims manufacturers can make and which products remain available on the market.

For those of us who value natural approaches to wellbeing, these are important questions. What could the changes mean for the availability of supplements and herbal products that people currently choose to use for themselves and their animals?

I believe people should have access to clear, accurate information and the freedom to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, alongside appropriate professional advice.

I also believe we should be asking questions now, rather than waiting until changes come into effect.

I'm not suggesting that every natural remedy is effective or suitable for everyone, or that conventional medicine has no place. What I am saying is that we need to understand what is being proposed, what may change and how those changes could affect our choices.

Please read the information for yourselves, ask questions and make your voices heard through the appropriate channels.

Our health, our animals' wellbeing and our ability to make informed choices matter. 🐾

🎆 FIREWORK SEASON IS COMING… ARE YOU PREPARED? 🐾 🎆

It's October, we all know what that means… the bangs, whizzes and unexpected fireworks will soon be starting! 💥

If your dog or cat struggles with fireworks, NOW is the time to start preparing, not when they’re already frightened. We stock two brilliant options from Dorwest that can be used together during firework season:

🌿 SCULLCAP & VALERIAN TABLETS
Designed to be given daily to help support calm, relaxed behaviour without causing drowsiness.

Dorwest recommends starting them at least 3 weeks before a stressful event, so now is the perfect time to get them into your pet’s routine ahead of Bonfire Night. There is still time to make a difference.

💧 VALERIAN COMPOUND
This is your quicker-acting helping hand. It can start working in around 30 minutes, making it ideal when fireworks begin, for unexpected bangs, or as additional support alongside the tablets when needed.

The aim isn’t to knock your pet out or make them sleepy, it’s to help them feel calmer and better able to cope with what’s happening around them. 🐶🐱

💥 DON’T WAIT UNTIL BONFIRE NIGHT! 💥
Fireworks rarely stick to one night anymore, and for pets who really struggle, getting support in place before firework season gets into full swing can make a huge difference.

Available from Around The Block Dog Supplies

Mention this post for 10% off tablets or 25% off if you buy the tablets and compound together.

🐾 Looking for a more affordable alternative to heavily marketed subscription boxes?

You don't have to compromise on quality to find food that suits your dog and your budget!

At Around The Block Dog Supplies, Bognor Regis, we stock a range of cooked and frozen raw foods, with plenty of choice to suit different dogs and budgets.

🍲 Gently cooked
🐾 Nutriment Fresh Cooked

❄️ Frozen raw food
🐾 Albion
🐾 Bella & Duke
🐾 Buddy’s Choice
🐾 Dibo (orders taken)
🐾 Dougie’s
🐾 Mersey Raw
🐾 Natural Instinct (orders taken)
🐾 Nature’s Menu
🐾 Nutriment
🐾 Wilder

💷 What could it cost?

For a 7.5kg adult dog, if you're currently spending around £60 per month on food, here are some alternatives to consider:

🐾 Nutriment Fresh Cooked – approximately £45–£55 per month
🐾 Nutriment Complete Raw Nuggets – approximately £39–£42 per month
🐾 Nature’s Menu 80/20 Complete – approximately £39–£42 per month
🐾 Bella & Duke Complete – approximately £39–£42 per month

That's a potential saving of around £5–£21 per month, depending on the food chosen and your dog's individual feeding requirements.

These are estimates, not exact feeding costs. Portions and costs vary by product, so always follow the manufacturer's feeding guidance and adjust to suit your dog.

Nutriment Fresh Cooked costs more than some frozen raw alternatives, but it's worth considering if you prefer to feed gently cooked food.

🐾 Good food, more choice, local independent expertise.

Pop in and see us at Around The Block Dog Supplies, Bognor Regis, and explore the options available.

We're happy to take orders to help ensure we have what you want, when you want it — without you having to fill your own freezer with stock you don't need! 🤔🐾🥰

Don't forget to sign up for our PawPrints loyalty scheme, and ask us about bulk purchase discounts.

We look forward to seeing you! 🐶❤️
