This week, the temperature is looking to rise very high! As nice as it is for us humans to sit in the sun, catching a nice tan and to relax– our furry friends don’t find this as fun.👎🏽

People sometimes say to me, “my dog loves the Sun “, which may be true! But it is still our responsibility to make sure that they are safe and healthy. And unfortunately, a fur baby is not cool or healthy in the blazing Sun. Not only do they get hot, their feet can get really damaged from the hot surfaces, and they can struggle to regulate their temperature a lot.

Most of my early clients, I move forward an hour or so to ensure that the temperature is lower and the sun isn’t quite as high. But unfortunately, there’s only so many hours where the weather is cooler.

So, this Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday and Friday, I will NOT be walking my fur friends for their usual schedule. I understand that some of my clients don’t have an outdoor space for their dogs to use the toilet, and for this reason I am happy to walk them a short distance to a nice grassy loo. 😂🍃

Instead, I will spend the desired time playing and cuddling your fur babies in the safety of their cool homes. I will also ensure that every one is drinking enough and staying hydrated. 💦

For all the humans, enjoy the sunshine! Make sure to wear your suncream! 🧴🤍☀️

Thank you! ✨

FROZEN CARROTS🥕
i’ve found my new favourite enrichment exercise for my two carrot lovers.

• Chop up a whole carrot- dispose of the tip.
• fill with cold water until half the carrots are covered - so your pooch can taste the carrot a little and know what they’re working for!
• pop in the freezer for an hour or two - I put mine in just before our walks
• dish up and let them be busy for half an hour! 🧡

Messages like this genuinely mean so much to me. I never take your trust lightly at all. Your dogs are family, and I treat them like my own every single walk 🐾🤍 Thank you for letting me be part of their little world.

Just because I’m their dog walker doesn’t mean I don’t absolutely adore my own pups too 🐾🤍

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of having my own dog in my own home. Not just family dogs, not just wishing on it, but a place that was mine, with little paws padding across the floor.

A few months after moving into my first home, I finally did it. I got Ralphred.

I was nervous more nervous than I expected to be. It suddenly felt very real. This tiny life was my responsibility. But I truly couldn’t have picked a better best friend than Ralph. He was the easiest puppy. Gentle, clever, eager to learn. He taught me all the best things about having a dog-unconditional love, loyalty, laughter. Also the harder bits too, like patience, consistency, and the occasional chewed slipper.

Even though he couldn’t speak, he somehow helped me grow more than I can explain. I never felt alone with him. Not once. He gave me confidence, routine, and a kind of comfort that only dog owners really understand.

After a few months, I started to realise something about Ralph; he hated being alone, and he absolutely adored other dogs. So I made the decision to get him a friend. I knew I didn’t want to go through a breeder; I wanted to rehome. My original plan was to find an older dog to keep him company.

I enquired about one lovely older boy, but the lady messaged back to say he’d already found his home. She did mention she was also rehoming her younger girl, Lottie at the time. The idea of two young dogs honestly scared me a little. Two puppies? Was I mad? But everything about it just felt right.

I decided to visit and of course, I took Ralph to see how they’d get on.

Well… that was that really.

They were inseparable from the moment they set eyes on each other. There was no hesitation, no awkwardness, just instant best friends. I couldn’t leave without her.

Rosie was five months old when I brought her home, which meant I’d missed some of those important early training months. There were a few little accidents indoors at first, but she picked everything up so quickly and soon became even more of an angel than I imagined.

Now, looking back, I can’t imagine my life without either of them. Ralph made me a dog owner. Rosie made us a little family. And together, they’ve filled my life with more love than that little girl version of me could ever have dreamed of. 🐾🤍
