The woods have been an absolute blessing during the heatwave. Very early walks and the car park was full of considerate dog parents doing the right thing by their dogs

It is so.heartwarminh that in this horrid heat, there are so many responsible dog parents keeping their dog cool by walking them here before 8am
Well done all of you.
As Buffy is a flat face breed, they cannot cope with heat as their cooling abilities are shockingly awful. So a cooling harness from pets at home helps her stay cool.

Thanks to the continual gorgeous weather, all routes are now dry but sadly it means the ponds and the streams are slowly evaporating. Buffy's favourite part of the walk is a dip in the stream by Winnie's bridge.
Having the woods as somewhere shady and cool to walk dogs is a godsend and very much appreciated.

The canopy is growing and adding some much needed shade for our dogs when it gets warm.
The bluebells still look amazing but are starting to go over now.
It's going to be sad when they go.

Today was absolute bliss. The woods are in peak bluebell form. The trees are just starting to form a canopy and it was just beautiful.

The woods are looking stunning now the bluebells and anemones are out.
We have enjoyed lovely walks in the spring sunshine.
I'm not going to try and persuade people to join but just want to share the joy we enjoy up in the Highwoods.
