💥 Firework Season 💥
Fireworks can be fun for people but terrifying for many dogs. Here’s a quick checklist to keep your dog safe and calm:
1. Prepare a safe space, an inside room with familiar bedding, toys, and water. Close windows and curtains to muffle sound.
2. Make sure collar tag and microchip details up to date. Have an up to date, clear photo of your dog saved on your phone.
3. Distract & comfort; play gentle music or white noise, use a stuffed Kong or long-lasting chew, and stay calm (your energy matters).
4. Exercise earlier. A good walk or play session earlier in the day can help burn energy (not during fireworks).
5. Avoid punishment, don’t scold a frightened dog; reassure them instead.
6. Safety first! Never let your dog outside unsupervised during fireworks. Keep doors, crates, gates locked.
7. Talk to your vet for dogs with severe noise phobia, there are proven behavior strategies and medical options. Only use sedatives under veterinary guidance.
