🐾💚 Some pictures from last Sunday’s Tooting Common Fun Dog Show! 💚🐶

Our Streatham Hill Vets and Tooting Vets teams were delighted to attend the annual Tooting Common Fun Dog Show, joining hundreds of local dog owners and their companions for a fantastic day☀️🌳

It was wonderful to catch up with some of our regular patients and meet so many members of the local community. 💚 Our vet Amelia had the honour of judging some of the competition categories, supported by Maria and our student veterinary nurse Marley, who enjoyed chatting with owners and meeting all the dogs taking part. 🏆🐕

There were lots of fantastic entries throughout the day, making Amelia’s job as judge a very difficult one! 🐾✨

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. 🙏💚 We love being part of our local community and supporting events that bring people and their dogs together. 🌿🐶💚

🐶💚 Meet Benny!

Benny came in to see us after eating chewing gum, and following advice from our poison line, he stayed in with us for monitoring and treatment. 🩺✨

We’re really pleased to say he is doing amazing and has made a fantastic recovery! He loved all of the love and attention he got from us all during his stay! Especially from our incredible veterary care assistant Carlota 🥰🐾

Incidents like this are a great reminder that some everyday items can be dangerous for pets. If your pet eats something they shouldn’t, always seek veterinary advice straight away.

We recently had Nuby come in who required a blood transfusion and thanks to our incredible donor cat Albie, they received the urgent support they needed. 💙✨

Blood transfusions in cats can be life-saving in emergencies, and having a readily available donor list makes all the difference when every second counts.

We are always looking to expand our donor family! 🐾 If you have a healthy, friendly pet, you can help save lives by registering them for blood typing and joining our donor list.
By donating, your pet could one day help another patient just like Albie did. ❤️

😺💙 Meet Leo who recently visited us for his castration! 🩺🐾

Did you know that unneutered male cats often develop large cheeks, known as "tomcat jowls"? This is caused by increased testosterone levels and is a common feature of entire male cats. This is something that is quite noticeable about this handsome boy 🧡

Neutering can help reduce roaming, fighting, and the risk of certain health issues, as well as preventing unwanted litters so it’s very important to remember to book in your castrations!🥰

🐹💚 Ace recently came in to see our vet Charlotte for a CT scan after experiencing some pain around his rear end.

Many people know us for caring for dogs and cats, but did you know we also treat a variety of small furry pets? 🐰🐹 From rabbits and guinea pigs to hamsters and other small companions, our team is here to help keep them happy and healthy too.

🐶💚 Noah came in to see us with a grass seed stuck in his ear! After a gentle sedation and removal by our vet Delphie, he went home feeling much more comfortable and happy. 🩺✨

🌾 It's grass seed season, and these little troublemakers can easily find their way into ears, paws, eyes, and even under the skin.
Keep an eye on your pets for signs like head shaking, scratching, licking paws, or sudden discomfort. If you're concerned, don't wait—give us a call and we'll be happy to help! 🐾☎️

Meet Hache 🤎 who recently came into the clinic as an emergency case suffering from a GDV (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus).

GDV is a serious condition where the stomach fills with gas and twists on itself, making it a life-threatening emergency that requires urgent surgery.

Hache underwent emergency surgery with our vet Jakub, assisted by our senior Twilight nurse Tracy, and we’re so pleased to say he has now fully recovered and is doing really well at home. ❤️

A huge thank you to Hache’s owners for acting quickly and well done to the team involved in his care!
