Trace clip for this boy!

I had the pleasure of backing Merlin 5 years ago, it was so nice to see him again!

I also had a little helper with me today, he was so helpful we decided he’d earnt himself a hot chocolate at the garden centre afterwards… with marshmallows of course 🥹🫶🏼🖤

🐴✂️ CLIPPING SEASON – IMPORTANT NOTICE ✂️🐴

September is here, which means clipping season is just around the corner!

My clipping price list has been updated slightly, and moving forward I will be strictly enforcing my dirty horse charge.

Please make sure your horse has had a proper bath within the 7 days before their clipping appointment and is clean and completely dry when I arrive.

I appreciate that horses have a remarkable ability to get filthy again approximately 30 seconds after being bathed… 🤦🏻‍♀️ However, clipping through a dirty, greasy or muddy coat makes it very uncomfortable for your horse, takes considerably longer, makes the job much harder, causes additional wear on blades and equipment and will affect the overall finish.

🚿 Can’t bath your horse?

If you genuinely don’t have access to suitable bathing facilities or there is another reason why bathing isn’t possible, there are other ways you can prepare your horse.

Ideally, in the week leading up to the appointment, spend some time thoroughly curry combing and brushing the coat, followed by hot clothing to help lift dirt, grease and dust from the skin and coat. Doing this regularly over several days can make a huge difference.

If you’re unable to bathe your horse, please let me know in advance so we can discuss the best way to get them prepared. A horse that has been prepared using an alternative method is better than a horse that arrives with no clipping prep. 🐴

Thank you to all of my lovely clients who already make the effort to present their horses clean and dry. It makes such a difference to the quality of the finish and the life of my blades ❤️

Here’s to a busy clipping season and lots of lovely, clean horses! 🐴✂️
