A little change of plan for today…

Unfortunately, I’ve made the decision not to attend the Ashford Railway Club Summer Fete today.

I’m feeling a little under the weather this morning after yesterday’s fair, and although the weather isn’t looking too bad today, I don’t think it’s sensible to push myself through another full day.

I’m really sorry if you were planning to come and see me. 🤎

Hopefully I’ll be back fighting fit and ready for the next one!

But don’t worry, I’ve got Nurse Binx on duty, and she’s taking her job very seriously. 😂🐶

Thank you for understanding, and I hope everyone has a lovely day at the fete. 🐾

🌧️ The weather might not be playing ball, but the Shadoxhurst Fun Day is still going ahead! 🐾

The event has been moved indoors, so you can still pop down and enjoy the afternoon without getting blown away! 😂

I’ll be there with the Natural Paw stall from 1–5pm, with plenty of treats, chews and things to keep your dog busy at home.

And importantly, the dog show is still on! 🐶🏆

If you’ve got a doggy question, you’re looking for something specific, or you’re just not sure what would suit your dog, come and have a chat. I’d love to help you find something that’s right for them.

You’ll find me just inside the door, near the outside bar, so I shouldn’t be too difficult to spot! 👋🐾

So don’t let the rain and wind put you off. Come down, say hello and support a lovely local event. 🤎

📍 Shadoxhurst Fun Day
🕐 1–5pm
🏠 Now indoors at The Kings Head.
🐶 Dog show still going ahead!

See you there! 🐾

Today is International Dog Day, so obviously we had to celebrate the most important member of the Natural Paw team.

Binx 🤎

Chief product tester.
Professional treat enthusiast.
Expert sniffer.
Part-time model.
Full-time invader of personal space. 😂

This photo pretty much sums her up - Derpy, slightly crazy, weird faces, and still thinking she’s the size of a puppy - and I wouldn’t have her any other way.

And honestly, that’s one of the things I love most about dogs.

They don’t have to be perfect.

They can be goofy, stubborn, curious, chaotic, cuddly, muddy and completely ridiculous, and if they’re anything like Binx, sometimes all of them in the space of 5 minutes. 😂

They all have their own personalities, their own preferences and their own little quirks that make them who they are.

And that’s something we love about Natural Paw.

It’s not about finding one perfect solution for every dog. It’s about getting to know the dog in front of you and finding the things that make their everyday life happier, more interesting and more fulfilling.

So today, celebrate your dog for exactly who they are.

Give them an extra cuddle, let them have that ridiculously long sniff, play their favourite game or simply enjoy some time together.

Happy International Dog Day from Sam & Binx. 🤎

And because I’m nosy, tell me about your dog. What’s the one thing they do that makes them completely and unmistakably THEM?

Pack a Boredom Busting Box with me 🐶📦

This order is heading off to a dog who is about to have a few more things to do at home!

There’s a snuffle toy, a treat dispenser ball, a slow feeder and a couple of tasty toppers to make mealtimes a little more interesting.

Because keeping your dog busy doesn’t have to mean doing the same thing every day.

You can give them something to sniff, something to work out, make them work a little harder for their food or simply change up their usual dinner with something tasty.

And you don’t need to use everything at once. Having a few different options means you can add variety, without having too many different products.

And it’s not about replacing their walks. It’s about giving them different ways to use their brain alongside their normal routine. 🐾

I’m actually thinking that Boredom Busting Box might need to become a proper Natural Paw bundle… 👀

Would your dog love this box?

When our latest Anco delivery arrived, Binx decided she quite fancied the look of an Ostrich Twister…

And when a Labrador decides something is hers, apparently that’s the end of the discussion. 😂

So, obviously, we had to let her put it to the test.

BINX TESTS: OSTRICH TWISTER

Her verdict?

About 10- 15 minutes of very happy chewing in the garden.

Now, for Binx, 10 minutes isn’t a particularly long-lasting chew, so I’d say this one is probably better suited to smaller dogs or dogs who aren’t particularly hard chewers.

And that’s exactly why I like testing products with Binx. Not everything we stock is going to be right for every dog, and I’d much rather tell you what I genuinely think than pretend everything is perfect for everyone.

If you’ve got a smaller dog or a lighter chewer looking for something tasty to get their teeth into, this could be worth a look.

Would your dog make this last longer than Binx? 🤔

Have you ever given your dog a lick mat or slow feeder, only for them to paw at it, flip it over, try to chew it or completely ignore it? 😂

It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve chosen the wrong product or wasted your money.

Sometimes, your dog simply hasn’t worked out what they’re supposed to do with it yet, so are making their own way to use it.

These things might seem obvious to us, but they’re not necessarily obvious to our dogs. So rather than putting it down and walking away, try working with your dog while they’re learning.

🐾 Start easy
Make the food easy to access so they quickly discover what they’re supposed to do.

🐾 Show them where the good stuff is
Encourage them towards the food and let them investigate.

🐾 Let them experiment
Sniffing, licking, pawing and moving it around are all part of them working it out. When they’re using it as they should, let them know by adding an extra treat or saying ‘yes’

🐾 Build the difficulty gradually
Once they understand how it works, you can make things more challenging by adding in some variety to the topper.

We’re not trying to teach them to use it “properly”. We’re helping them learn how to get the most out of it.

And remember, different dogs will enjoy different things. What works brilliantly for one dog might not be right for another.

Not sure which type would suit your dog? That’s exactly the sort of thing you can chat to me about. Drop me a message, tell me about your dog and what you’re trying to achieve, and I’ll help you find something that makes sense for them. 🤎

🌡️ When it’s 30°C+ outside, walks aren’t always the answer.

So what do you do with a dog who still has plenty of energy and is wondering why their usual adventures have been cancelled?

Make them a destruction bag. 🐾

This is one of Binx’s favourites, and it takes just a few minutes to put together.

You’ll need:

📦 1 paper bag or a box, thats a suitable size for your dog.
🧻 Around 15 empty toilet roll tubes
🥣 Her usual kibble
🥩 3 Fidelis Beef Burgers
🦆 Around 10 Fidelis Duck Training Bones

I reduced Binx’s usual amount of kibble slightly to allow for the extra treats.

Then it’s simply a case of putting everything into the bag, folding the top over and handing it over.

The best bit?

You don't need to make it complicated.

Binx gets to sniff, rummage, pull things apart, shred and search for the food and treats hidden amongst all those cardboard tubes.

And judging by that wagging tail, she was more than happy with her afternoon activity!

ust remember to supervise your dog with anything they’re shredding, and remove any pieces they try to eat.

It’s also worth remembering that 30°C+ is a very different day for our dogs. If the weather is too hot for a normal walk, swapping some physical exercise for sniffing, searching and using their brain can be a great way to help them have a satisfying day without overheating.

Save this one for the next scorcher (which is probably tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣)

Apparently it’s National Spoil Your Dog Day, so here’s Binx living her absolute best life. 😂

And honestly, sometimes spoiling your dog doesn’t need to mean buying them something.

It’s letting them stop and sniff for as long as they want.

Taking the scenic route.

Playing their favourite game.

Having an extra five minutes of fuss.

Giving them the time to just be a dog. 🐾

So today, why not give your dog something they genuinely love?

What would your dog choose? 🤎

Ever bought your dog a treat… only for it to be gone in 60 seconds? 👀

We know the feeling.

You’re looking for something tasty, natural and maybe something that’ll keep your dog busy for a little while… but with so many natural chews to choose from, it can be hard to know what’s actually going to suit your dog.

So we’re introducing a brand new guide to our natural chews. This is just Part 1. It's really important that our customers know exactly what they're getting when they shop with us, so new guides will be coming out monthly. Keep your eyes peeled for when they drop.

Our first guide brings together some of the products we stock, with the name, picture and useful info all in one place, so you can have a proper look before you buy and really understand whether they're the right thing to spend your money on.

And because it’s something we get asked about a lot…

🌿 Our chews are natural.
🚫 They contain no rawhide.

We carefully choose the products we stock, looking for tasty options that give you plenty of choice for different dogs, different chewing styles and different occasions.

Save this guide for later so you’ve got it when you’re next looking for a new treat or chew.
