🐾 Canine Companion Day – 2nd October 2026 🐾

Today is all about celebrating the wonderful bond we share with our canine companions. ❤️🐶

Whether they are the energetic adventure buddy who gets us out walking, the muddy-pawed mischief maker, the gentle old soul who prefers a quiet stroll, or simply the dog who is always there beside us at the end of the day, every dog brings something special into our lives.

And for many of us, some of our most treasured companions are the ones who are no longer by our side. Their pawprints remain part of our hearts, and their memories are woven into the lives we continue to share with our dogs today. 🌈🐾

So today, we would love you to share with us!

💜 Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Day – 1st October 💜

Today is Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Day, a day coined by the British Veterinary Receptionist Association to celebrate the wonderful people who are often the first voice, first smile and first point of contact for pet owners.

Here at Time 2 Say Goodbye, that person is our lovely Lorraine, who is usually the first person families speak to when they contact us. 🐾

Being a veterinary receptionist, and especially working in pet end-of-life care, is about so much more than answering phones and emails. It is about listening when someone is struggling to find the words, answering difficult questions with kindness, helping families understand their options, and offering a calm and reassuring presence during some of the most emotional moments they will ever face.

Sometimes it is simply being there to listen.

Sometimes it is helping someone take that first difficult step.

And sometimes it is knowing when a family does not need answers straight away, but just needs someone to understand. 💜

We know how daunting it can feel to pick up the phone and talk about saying goodbye to a much-loved pet, and we never take the trust families place in us for granted.

So today, we are celebrating Lorraine and all the wonderful veterinary receptionists who bring kindness, patience, compassion and care to their work every single day.
