🪥🦷Let’s Talk Dentals🦷🪥
Did you know that dental health is an important aspect of your pets overall wellbeing?

Routine teeth cleaning under a general anaesthetic is a great way to remove plaque build up on your pets teeth which may be contributing to dental pain, poor gum health or may even cause infection! 😷
Jersey was in today for a routine scale and polish to help keep his mouth happy and healthy, as a result of this proactive action taken by his owners, he did not require any extractions and has went home today with a Colgate fresh smile 😁

Here are some ways in which you can help look after your pets teeth:

🦷Regular tooth brushing

🦷Yearly vet check ups

🦷Checking your pets mouth at home on a regular basis.

Remember - Prevention is always better than waiting until your pet is in pain. Dental pain is often hidden very well by our pets.
If you are concerned about your pets teeth or would like advice on dental care, please get in touch 🐾

This handsome boy was the perfect patient 💙

This will in turn mean we will be closing early on Thursday the 24th of September to allow our staff to join in the celebrations. We will be open from 9am-2pm on this day for urgent care only.
Please be mindful that there will only be one vet on call for strict emergencies after this time.
We will open as normal on Friday the 25th for all other routine appointments. We thank you for your patience and understanding at this exciting time🎉

We would like to take this opportunity to wish Hannah and Graham all the very best for a long and happy future together ♥️

Update on temporary control zone restrictions.

The Scottish government is regularly updating the movement restrictions in the temporary control zone and licensing requirements can be found using the link attached.
We are only a call away for any further questions or advice.

Vaccination is considered the best way to protect livestock from the effects of Bluetongue Serotype-3. Discuss with your vet and visit: https://www.gov.scot/publications/bluetongue/pages/bluetongue-movement-restrictions-for-animals/

20/08/2026

Bluetongue disease controls are being introduced after the disease was detected in two lambs at a farm near Lockerbie. It follows detection of the disease on four other premises near Newton Stewart.

A Temporary Control Zone has been put in place around the areas in Dumfries and Galloway where bluetongue has been detected.

All movement of livestock such as cattle, sheep and other susceptible ruminants is restricted in or out of the zone, with limited exceptions under licence such as for slaughter. Increased surveillance and testing of animals is being carried out in the area.
