Paws with Purpose was born from a dream—to build something truly meaningful. As a neurodivergent entrepreneur, I wanted to create a business where I could work on my own terms, doing something I love while making a difference. Dogs have always been my passion

, so it made sense to dedicate my life to giving them the best care possible. I offer home-from-home boarding, where every pup is treated like part of the family—no kennels, no stress, just personalised care, love, and enrichment. In time, I plan to expand to dog walking, all while creating opportunities for other neurodivergent individuals to find fulfilling work in a supportive environment.

Basset Hounds

Basset Hounds are walking contradictions in the best possible way — low to the ground, but full of big feelings; slow in stride, but unstoppable when a scent catches their interest.

Those heavy paws aren’t clumsy
 they’re designed for endurance.
That long, velvet snoot isn’t just cute
 it’s a scent‑tracking machine.
And those droopy eyes aren’t sad
they’re soft, expressive, and deeply connected to their person.

Bassets, like Keith here carry a kind of gentle stubbornness — not naughty, just thoughtful.
They like to decide things for themselves, they communicate with full-body drama, and they bond with a depth that surprises people who only see the long ears and short legs.

Underneath it all, they’re sensitive souls:
steady, affectionate, emotional, and happiest when life moves at a calm, comfortable pace.

A Basset Hound isn’t just a dog.
They’re a vibe.

Dog Paws & Snoots

Dog paws and snoots are two of the smallest things
 but they tell you everything.

Paws show confidence, comfort, and connection — the gentle lean, the soft stretch, the little “I’m here with you” touch.

Snoots show curiosity, trust, and emotion — the slow nudge, the quiet check‑in, the way they rest their whole face on you when they feel safe.

Together, they’re the language dogs use long before they bark or wag.

Soft paws. Warm snoots.

Tiny details
 huge feelings.

The trend says he’s “just a baby”
 and honestly, he agrees.
Because being someone’s baby isn’t about size — it’s about trust, softness, and knowing exactly where you feel safe.
That’s the real magic of sensitive dogs: they lean in, they check in, and they let you be their whole world for a moment.

Born a dog.
Identifies as a dog.
But according to his mum
 absolutely, unapologetically, the baby.

Vini is the definition of a dachshund who knows exactly where comfort lives — right on your arm, tucked in, soaking up every bit of closeness.

They may be small, but their need for connection is huge.

This is the dachshund superpower: deep loyalty, soft moments, and a heart that settles the second they feel safe.

Puppies are little masters of contrast — one minute they’re calm, soft, settled
and the next they’re a blur of legs doing laps around the garden. Let’s talk about why.

That peaceful moment you see before the chaos isn’t just “rest.” It’s part of a puppy’s natural arousal cycle. Young dogs spend short bursts in a calm, regulated state, and then their nervous system releases all that stored energy in a sudden wave.
That’s the zoomies — or, in behaviour terms, a release of built‑up arousal.

It’s normal.
It’s healthy.
And it’s a sign their little bodies and brains are developing exactly as they should.

The calm helps them reset.
The zoomies help them regulate.
Both are important.

For high‑energy breeds like springers, this cycle can be even more dramatic — a quiet pause followed by a joyful explosion of movement. Supporting both sides of the cycle is key: gentle routines, predictable rhythms, and safe spaces to sprint when the energy hits.

Calm is the inhale.
Zoomies are the exhale.
Together, they build confident, emotionally balanced dogs.

Let’s talk about focus.

In this video, Otto isn’t “just waiting for the ball” — he’s practising a really valuable skill called stimulus control. That intense little stare, the stillness, the anticipation
it’s all part of how dogs learn to regulate themselves around exciting things.

For young dogs (especially springers), this moment is gold.
It teaches patience, impulse control, and how to stay connected to their person even when their brain is shouting “THROW IT!”

When we reward calm focus — not frantic jumping or barking — we help puppies grow into dogs who can think before they act. It’s one of the simplest ways to build emotional stability, confidence, and good manners without ever needing harsh training.

A quiet pause.
A steady gaze.
A moment of self‑control.
That’s the real win — the ball is just the bonus.

Let’s talk about pup cups.

They’re cute, they’re popular, and they’re offered with good intentions — but for puppies (and many adult dogs), they’re really not the healthiest choice.

Pup cups are usually just whipped cream: high‑fat, sugary, dairy‑heavy, and not great for developing stomachs. For young dogs like Otto, they can cause tummy upsets, diarrhoea, or unnecessary calorie spikes.

And here’s the thing:

A simple cup of fresh water is just as much of a treat. Puppies don’t need sugar to have a fun moment — they get the excitement from the outing, the new smells, the interaction, and the novelty of being included. Water keeps them hydrated, regulated, and feeling good afterwards.

So yes, it’s totally okay to politely decline the pup cup.
Your dog won’t miss out — and you’re protecting their health.
