🐾 The Snuffle Spot 🐾

It’s such a shame we haven’t been able to get out to The Snuffle Spot for a while, because we absolutely love it there! ❤️

It’s an amazing experience for all dogs, whether they’re confident explorers or a little more nervous and need some time to build their confidence. Sniffing, exploring and making choices at their own pace is such a great way for dogs to relax, engage their brains and enjoy a positive experience in a new environment.

Laura is absolutely amazing with all dogs and creates such a calm, welcoming space. She’s also always great for a chat while your dog takes their time exploring and getting comfortable. 🐶✨

We’d highly recommend The Snuffle Spot for any dog looking for a fun, enriching and confidence-building adventure!

I know Snuffle Spot is a completely new concept to many people, and you might be wondering exactly what it is or whether it's right for your dog.

There really are no silly questions! If you're curious about what happens during a session, whether your dog would enjoy it, or if you have any concerns at all, I'd much rather you ask.

Pop your question in the comments below so everyone can benefit from the answer, or if you'd prefer, send me a private message. I'm always happy to chat and help you decide if Snuffle Spot is the right fit for you and your dog.

🥾❤️ Walking the West Highland Way for the Scottish SPCA ❤️🥾

We’re taking on the challenge of walking the entire 96-mile West Highland Way to raise money for the Scottish SPCA.

This challenge means so much to us because we recently welcomed an amazing bearded dragon, Maverick, into our family after rehoming him from the Scottish SPCA. Seeing the care, dedication, and second chance they gave him inspired us to give something back.

The Scottish SPCA doesn’t just help dogs and cats—they care for animals of all kinds, including reptiles like Maverick. Every donation helps them continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals that need a safe place and a fresh start.

It won’t be an easy challenge, but knowing we’re doing it for such an incredible cause will keep us putting one foot in front of the other.

If you’d like to support us, our fundraising link is in our bio. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this post would mean the world.

Thank you for helping us support the Scottish SPCA 🐾 and give more animals like Maverick the second chance they deserve. ❤️

🐾 One whole week with Sandy 💙

What an amazing week it’s been looking after this handsome boy in the comfort of his own home while his family were away.

From walks and enrichment to plenty of cuddles, Sandy has been an absolute joy to spend time with. One of the highlights was watching him and Milo become the best of friends! They loved spending time together, enjoying lots of play sessions and keeping each other entertained.

With the warmer weather, we made sure to keep cool by sticking to shaded walks, taking plenty of breaks, and enjoying lots of indoor play and enrichment to keep Sandy happy and safe.

Thank you so much for trusting Lotte’s Walkies to care for Sandy. It’s been a pleasure looking after him, and he’ll definitely be missed! 💙

If you’re heading away and would prefer your pets to stay happy and relaxed in their own home, my in-home pet sitting service provides personalised care, companionship, and peace of mind while you’re away.

🐾 Why Rest Days Matter for Dogs 💤

Just like us, dogs need time to rest and recover. Exercise is incredibly important, but more isn’t always better!

Here’s why regular rest days are so important:

💙 Muscle Recovery – After long walks, runs, or play sessions, your dog’s muscles need time to repair and become stronger.

🧠 Mental Reset – Constant stimulation can be overwhelming. A quieter day helps reduce stress and prevent overstimulation.

🦴 Joint Health – Rest gives joints, tendons, and ligaments a chance to recover, which is especially important for puppies, senior dogs, and active breeds.

😴 Better Sleep – Quality rest supports your dog’s immune system, mood, and overall wellbeing.

❤️ Prevents Burnout – Dogs can become physically and mentally exhausted too. A rest day helps keep exercise fun and enjoyable.

A rest day doesn’t have to mean doing nothing! You can still enjoy:
🐶 Snuffle mats
🧩 Puzzle toys
👃 Scent games
🦴 A chew or lick mat
💛 Plenty of cuddles and relaxation

Remember: Every dog is different. Some high-energy dogs may only need a lighter exercise day, while others benefit from a full day off each week. Listen to your dog’s body and adjust their routine to suit their age, health, and lifestyle.

Does your dog enjoy a weekly rest day? Let us know below! ⬇️🐾

✨ BIG NEWS! ✨

I’m so excited to finally share that Lotte’s Walkies is planning to expand into West Aberdeen! 🐾💚

This is something I’ve been working towards for a while, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from all of my amazing clients. Thank you for trusting me with your dogs and helping my little business grow. ❤️

As part of our planned expansion, we’re hoping to welcome new adventure buddies from:
🐾 Hazlehead
🐾 Lang Stracht
🐾 Sheddocksley
🐾 Northfield
🐾 Kingswells

To help us gauge interest, we’re opening a priority waitlist for these areas. While the expansion isn’t guaranteed and will depend on demand and operational planning, joining the waitlist means you’ll be one of the first people we contact if we’re able to offer services in your area.

🔗 The waitlist link is in our bio!

🐾 Interested in joining the Lotte’s Walkies team in the future? As we continue to grow, we’d love to hear from passionate, reliable pet professionals who share our values. If you’d like to be considered for future opportunities, feel free to send us a message.

This is such an exciting step for Lotte’s Walkies, and I can’t wait to (hopefully!) meet even more amazing dogs and their humans and create lots of new adventures together. Thank you all for being part of this journey. 💚

From bite work to breathtaking views! 🐾⛰️

After Ody smashed his bite work class, we headed off on an adventure to Findlater Castle. Safe to say the boys had an absolute blast exploring, sniffing, and taking in the scenery… and so did we! ❤️

Adventure walks are the perfect way to provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment in exciting new places.

Koda’s first Adventure Walk was one to remember! 🐾🌲

We headed to Fetteresso Forest, and safe to say he had the BEST time exploring woodland trails, sniffing every new scent, and enjoying a proper adventure. Watching dogs build confidence while having so much fun is what it’s all about! 💚

Every Adventure Walk is packed with enrichment, exercise, and plenty of tail wags. 🐶

Meet Zeus, our newest pack member! 🐾

As we’re avoiding walks during the heat, we’ve been focusing on training and strengthening our bond instead. Zeus has been an absolute superstar and is picking things up so well 💚

He’s a clever boy, eager to learn, and a pleasure to work with. We can’t wait to continue watching his confidence grow! 🐶✨

As a small business, every bit of support makes a huge difference. 💛🐾

Whether it’s liking a post, leaving a comment, sharing our content, recommending us to a friend, or leaving a review, it all helps Lotte’s Walkies grow and reach more local dog owners.

I saw a similar post from Scentwork & Dog training - Fife and surrounding areas and thought it was such a great reminder of how much these small actions help small businesses, so thank you for the inspiration! 🐶

Thank you to everyone who has supported Lotte’s Walkies so far. Your support, trust, and kindness genuinely mean the world to me and the pups in my care. 🐕✨

☀️ Heat stroke can affect any dog and become a life-threatening emergency in a matter of minutes.

While warm weather can be enjoyable for us, our dogs can struggle to regulate their body temperature, especially during exercise, in direct sunlight, or in poorly ventilated spaces.

Knowing the warning signs and acting quickly can make all the difference. That’s why we’ve put together this guide to help you recognise the risks, understand which dogs are most vulnerable, and know what to do if you ever suspect heat stroke.

If you are concerned that your dog may be suffering from heat stroke, seek veterinary advice immediately. Even if they appear to recover, heat stroke can cause serious internal damage and should always be taken seriously.

At Lotte’s Walkies, your dog’s safety and wellbeing always come first. During warmer weather, walks may be adjusted, shortened, or replaced with drop-in visits depending on the temperature and how each individual dog is coping.

Have you changed your dog’s routine during the recent warm weather? Let us know below! 🐾👇
