When the devastating news just keeps coming 😢 💔

Many of you will know the Mrs Murray's legend that is Hector who could always be found marching around reception greeting everyone 🐾 it was often said when his mum our Manager Marie was on time off that he had stepped in to make sure we were all doing as we should 🤪 He tested ALL products that came into the shop and would make sure he really checked out the beds were comfortable by napping on them for most of the day 😴 He liked to parade around and had no fear of any dog that dared to get a little to close 🫣 He even tried his paw at construction work as the new reception was being built he was often found scaling the scaffolding 🔨
Hector had started to grow a little old gracefully lately and preferred to spend his days in a sunny spot at home waiting for his mum to come see him at break times and demand she fed him... scampi and fish being the favourites lately 🥰
This week Hector took ill and in the arms of his best friend and mum of 18 years 10 months Hector peacefully crossed over rainbow bridge to meet his sister Maisie again 💕

🧡 Max's Legacy 🧡

Since 1889, Mrs Murray's has been a place of safety, compassion and second chances.
Generations of animal lovers have walked through our doors - supporters, adopters and donors - all united by one belief: Every animal deserves kindness, care, love and a home.
Now... Its time for the next chapter.
The current facilities are outdated and cramped, and do not offer a suitable environment for the, often traumatised, dogs while they wait their forever home. The New Block will incorporate the latest recommendations and guidance regarding animal welfare and safety standards
• It will create 21 modern kennel units, including a specific ‘Maternity Unit”.
All units will comprise of a heated sleeping area and a dedicated outdoor run. In addition to creating a spacious and comfortable environment for the dogs the new facilities will also create an ideal viewing space for members of the public wishing to find a new family member.
• We firmly believes this project will be transformational for both the dogs looking to be rehomed and for the staff looking after them.

Congratulations to Team Thistle Home Improvements Group for raising an amazing £1000 from completing this years Kiltwalk!
