After "Les Couleurs" 🔴🟡🔵 in the Autumn Term and "Les Nombres" 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ in the Spring Term, we finished the academic year by learning "Les Formes" (shapes) 🔴🟥❤️♦️in the Summer Term. These are the three additional themes we learn every year alongside our main topics, and reinforce all year long!
The children particularly enjoyed manipulating the squishy and plushy shapes 🟡🟨💛⭐

For the last two weeks of the Summer Term, we've been revising all the vocabulary we've learned about "Les Saisons" 🌸☀️🍁❄️
We've made a season puzzle and learned about the number of seasons and months in a year, we've dressed "Petit Ours Brun" (Little Brown Bear) 🐻 according to the season, and we've played a little game of "Loto des Saisons" (seasons bingo) to learn more vocabulary about nature 🌈🍒🍄🌲

We all loved these four wonderful stories about "Écureuil" (Squirrel) 🐿️ and "Oiseau" (Bird) 🐦 by the very talented Alice Hemming
Since this term's topic was "Les Saisons" (seasons), they were absolutely perfect and very much appreciated by children and adults alike! 🌸☀️🍁❄️

One game, two different ways to play: face-to-face and online. All the children had fun placing the animals in the right habitat.

Some animals like "L'Hiver' (winter) 🦭🫍🐧🐻‍❄️ and others prefer "L'Été" (summer) 🐘🐅🦒🐒

After "Les Couleurs" 🔴🔵🟡 in the Autumn Term and "Les Chiffres" 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ in the Spring Term, we always learn "Les Formes" (shapes) ⏺️⏹️🔼 in the Summer Term, on top of our topic of the term.

Since we now know all the colours and quite a few shapes, we could play shapes and colours games last week, such as "La Pêche aux Formes" (shapes fishing) 🎣 🐠 🐟 that the children absolutely loved! 😁

En "Automne" (autumn) 🍂 the "Feuilles" (leaves) change colours 🟢🟡🟠🔴🟤
After having picked all the "Fruits" 🍎🍐🍊 the children decorated " un Arbre d'Automne" (an autumn tree) 🍁 and tried to guess which "Animaux Marron" (brown animals) 🐿️🦔🐻 were hiding in the tree trunk 🪵

It's still "L'Été" (summer) 🌞 and this time we are going to "La Plage" (the beach) 🏖️
Two "Crabes" 🦀 have entered a "Château de Sable" (sandcastle) 🏰 competition 🏅
Who do you think is gonna win? 🏆
"Le Requin" (the shark) will be the judge 🦈

Last week was all about very hungry "Chenilles" (caterpillars) 🐛 and beautiful "Papillons" 🦋
We also revised the colours in French, and found an intruder among the "Dix" (ten) 🔟 little butterflies! Can you spot it? It's the only one without a picture in the shape of a "Cercle" 🔴🟡
